    This book helped me through a very difficult time. It’s funny something so simple as making my bed has made a big difference. When I found this book it was just what I needed at the time

    JIMI - I always enjoy your videos - you have such a nice way of presenting your planning and how you intentionally construct your daily living. I love Makselife and have made big changes using the method! I completely empathize with your sleep issues - me too. I have fibromyalgia which involves sleep problems. For years I have treated myself as a lab experiment to deal with the pain and sleep. I commend you for doing your best to eliminate sugar - I have found that is a major culprit for me! Also fats- any added fats will eliminate deep sleep for me - when I don't deep sleep I wake very early like 4 am and have trouble getting back to sleep. Like you exercising is not my favorite and I will this week get back to it as it is a major component to me getting the sleep I need. Back to the oils though I know Keto eating is pretty oil centric - I don't think it is wise to recommend eating regimes to other people and I am not trying to dissuade you from a Keto diet if that is what you want to do. Eventually, I found I had more problems on Keto than I had before it with my sleep. Now I am strictly plant based whole foods no added sugars, salts or fats. It's hard but the sleep is improved greatly - if I just get the exercise in. Wishing us both luck in adding in that movement soon. I should say to be honest -- and keep my experiments in good check with a control for standard eating - I eat all the goodies on Thanksgiving to test out the theories about what I have eliminated, LOL!       Thank you so much for your reply, Michelle! I was whole food plant-based no processed anything for about two years. It didn’t improve my health in the ways that I wanted. I have done keto before, not too too strict, but plenty of protein, healthy fats, and lots of veggies. That seems to be what makes my body the healthiest and thrive. I know everyone is different. Sugar, white flour, and processed foods are my enemies!
      I have very dry skin, and problems with dry eyes, since I have Hashimoto’s and thyroid issues. And although I have been treated for those things over the past 3 decades, my body really needs the healthy fats. When I have enough healthy fats, my eyes don’t burn, and my skin doesn’t itch as much from dryness. I even have healthier hair when I consume enough healthy fats. I tried going oil free when I was doing Dr. campbell’s WFPB no oil for a few months. But I found with my specific issues, I really need the healthy fats and oils.
      I see a functional medicine doctor that I have seen for a little over 10 years. I work with her to choose the best diet for me and my issues. Mine is mostly Keto, but, like I said, not too too strict, and Mediterranean, but without the white flour. My doctor feels like it’s insulin resistance that is messing up my sleep the most, and also burned-out adrenals as I was diagnosed through saliva testing. My stress levels are a big factor in the insomnia too, as I have some CPTSD issues that I’m working on healing as well.
      I do appreciate your insights so much, Michelle . 😁 I like to weigh every insight and every angle, to get closer to sleeping well regularly! 😊

      That's the ticket - whatever makes our bodies feel best - and your list of those culprits and mine are the same. Your Thanksgiving sounds like it will be lovely - I'm walking into the unknown with family - I expect everything on our culprits list will be tempting me. Have a JOYOUS one - be well and sleep like a baby from now on - 😂 Well we can hope 🤣

      Hi Michelle! 👋 yes, I will be happy to share the cheese spread. I’m not near the recipe right now, but the main ingredients are shredded cheddar, cheese, diced onion, bacon, bits, Worcestershire sauce, and mayonnaise. It’s a spread to put on crackers. Everyone always loves it and it’s so easy and simple. 🙂
