The Rock just went full Dom Toretto with this "Family" angle which is Ironic. I love it!
For all the "little brothering" that Roman Reigns has done to Seth Rollins this past week, this was the first time in this 3.5 year title run that HE has looked like the little brother, or cousin, in this case. The Rock looked more like the tribal chief than Roman did and Roman just walked behind The Rock.
Came to say the same thing. Great segment but Roman came out looking weakest in this whole thing. I also felt like this was the beginning of the Nation of Domination power shift.
Rock casually lil broed Roman so hard it was hilarious. The Rock has so much presence and charisma plus is older and bigger than Roman so he naturally overshadows him.
I'm fairly sure that's intentional though.
That was the point. There was no way The Rock wasn’t gonna look like anything that there than the big boss. As much as people tend to whine about it, Rocky is a megastar. Roman is huge but the Rock would eclipse anyone.

I do think it was a bit strange that they gave Bianca a slot here with nothing set for WM. But.. she has a new reality show and is on the cover of the game! And her path to WM this year is less clear than Bayley's. Honestly, I'm not mad about it. This spot made business sense and a Bayley segment wouldn't be anything they couldn't do better on Smackdown. It is what it is!

Whether it's a shoot, a work, or a shoot that they're pivoting into a work, you have to admit that the drama has got the hype levels through the stratosphere.
I don't see a Seth and Cody vs. Rock and Roman tag match with no titles on the line ending Night 1. There aren't much in the way of stakes. The way they were setting up Drew on Raw makes me believe he'll be facing Seth on Night 1 for the WHC. And with how personal they've made the heat between Rock and Cody with that slap, I think there will be a Rock/Roman/Cody triple threat on Night 2.

@@sujiks9517 I don't think so. Rock's plan was always to wrestle Roman with the title on the line. Apparently that was part of his negotiations to become a shareholder. With the triple threat, that still happens, just with Cody included as well. And as heated as things might get between Rock and Cody, neither has anything to win if they wrestle each other on Night 1. Cody's guaranteed a title match with Roman regardless of the outcome, and Cody has no title for Rock to win. So where's the stakes?
Though it may kinda resemble Wrestlemania 10 with Owen vs. Bret because Bret still had his title match regardless of whether or not he beat Owen, the difference is that they *opened* the show with a match with no title and no stakes besides the brother vs. brother angle. They just had to make the match exciting enough as an opener. But we're talking about closing out Night 1 (because there's no way Rock doesn't close the show) with a main event that involves no title on the line and no real incentive for either guy to win.
Don't be a mark. It's a well done work.
So a Rock/Roman power struggle is how they’re going to feed into Rocky v Roman next year.
Cody needs to explain why he let Rock have his opportunity in the first place. Especially given the way he came out.

i think they are avoiding that whole mess cause they can't think of a way of getting out of it.. seems like they told cody to ignore an explanation and just make a choice like he never gave his spot away.. even worse all the announcers were confused on what type of match was even set to begin with.
This felt so unusual WWE actually corrected their mistake and this showed us that this is indeed a new WWE

Outside of the Cody Roman rock Seth stuff, my main takeaway was wwe is making aew look like the indys. AEW has so so so so far to go to even sniff WWE’s toes much less look eye to eye. Sasha or okada or ospreay it doesn’t matter who they sign they need step on every level quite a bit.
Your main takeaway was about something at the expense of another company? I'd hate to watch wrestling, or even enjoy anything else in general like that.

I honestly don't think WWE have changed their minds about the WrestleMania main event. I don't know what match exactly will be, I just don't think they have changed. What I do think they have changed is the way the story is told and how we get to that match.
It feels like Dwayne said to HHH "It's gonna be The Rock vs Roman at 'Mania, okay?" and HHH replied with "You let me know as soon as The Rock shows up, then."

I feel the only way to make Seth’s title seem legitimate and something to contend for is if they do Rock vs Seth night 1 then Cody vs Roman night 2
Tag team match just seems to make it messy with belts involved.
If Seth beats the rock in a championship match on night 1 it would be undeniable he’s one of the best and make that title mean more.

When Cody both dissed Roman & Rock for not cooking for 2 years, I took it as a sign that they're officially scrapping the Roman-Rock feud in order to just focus on Roman and Cody's feud. Still too early to tell, I know. But then again, if Rock would turn on Roman at Mania, then that could mean that we can still see a Roman vs Rock feud down the road, maybe at SummerSlam.

Assuming that it will be a tag team match between Roam/The Rock vs Cody/Seth, I think this kickoff did a fantastic job of foreshadowing and hyping it. Between that little video about "where were you 40 years ago?" and Triple H later talking about how the first Wrestlemania was a cultural milestone and must see event. Then Triple H planted some seeds, talking about that first Wrestlemania's main event: a tag team match between icons Roddy Piper/Mr. Wonderful vs Hogan/Mr. T.
So when things played out as it did between Cody/Roman/Rock/Seth I think they had done a good job getting people excited for a possible tag team main event, paralleling that first Wrestlemania. It sure was what I kept thinking of as they all started cursing each other out.
I thought the tag match was telegraphed by HHH talking about the tag match in the main event WM1.
It was great seeing Big E on commentary. I hope they use him like that more offen

This past week did its job. We are talking about possible matches, the chaos, and was it all a work or a pivot. What no one is talking about is anything involving Vince McMahon which WWE wanted go away as quick as possible.

It's pretty easy to figure Seth into this, The Rock's promos will generally tend to mock everything close to Cody, especially Dusty, but Cody generally doesn't stoop down to the level of the heels... Rollins on the other hand can talk all kinds of crap about the Rock's legacy, his father, his daughter etc because he's done it before

With Rock turning heel, he will get even more people on his side. Rock was the highlight of the night.

As someone on the inside, this was Dwayne’s writing 💯. Rock needs heat and this was an effective way to garner heat.
Part of me thinks they had 2 scripts they could have done and the reason the rock was taking so long between statements was that it was his call to change it on the spot depending on the reaction he got from the crowd and because of the reaction he decided to change it. Just my opinion
Honestly dont need to see Becky in the main event picture again , that womens roster is so stacked with talent now I would really like to see a shock winner of the chamber that then goes on to beat Ripley at Mania , remember the path we set Paige on straight from her 1st night on the main roster , Id even go as far as to have ConDom somehow indirectly cost Rhea the title that triggers WWE's 1st mixed gender match between the 2

A lot of people are saying this was a work but I don’t think so. It felt like they saw the reaction and made adjustments, which worked wonderfully. But If all this was intentional, Cody wouldn’t have just stepped to the side to let Rock have Roman in the first place

I think WWE could've kept the "Roman vs Rock" angle a few more weeks to give the Rock nuclear heat if he is indeed planning to turn heel. With the press conference being less than a week from when Cody stepped aside, this feels more like a PR stunt. Hopefully Seth can get some revenge for all the belittling his character has gone through this week

Over the next couple weeks Rock tries pushing HHH around to change the Roman/Cody match. Eventually Rock gets to the point where he starts threatening to get physical with HHH to get what he wants but HHH says he can’t fight anymore, but he knows someone who can fight in his place. Que Rollins to step up for the other main event. Rock is pissed, but then decides that he will take that match because he says bloodline should hold both top belts
If we get Seth and Cody vs Rock and Roman, you have to give Seth the pin on Roman. Joe and Dwayne aren’t working a 7am PLE though. As Cody said, they don’t cook, they only show up if they like the meal.
I’m willing to bet that Triple H told the board that if they put the Rock v Roman at Mania over Cody v Roman the fans would lose it, the board said “no the Rock is the biggest star in the world they’d definitely prefer him.” So Triple H booked Cody to win the RR and give up the spot to the Rock just to prove his point. So when he was right they had to backtrack.
The promo also brings Jey and Jimmy into the the WM mix. We got a taste at the RR. I’m hoping we get that match….. especially if Jey wins a title.
Easy fix for this - First Night Main Even - Cody vs. Rock, winner faces Roman. Cody wins. During the main event, Roman wins when Rock interferes and brings in more of the FAMILY. One of the Fatu kids has just become a Free Agent. Bring him in, and Boom - another year of nutty goodness.
I know that jey started going after the IC title but it would make more sense with cody/jey vs Roman/Rock. Putting Seth in the tag match, if he is hurt, and not put his title on the line at all then it makes what Roman saying is true that its the secondary title. They seem to have already pivoted why not pivot again
IMO, Sidge would be far easier to watch if there was a bit of heel character work in his WC persona. When presented straight, it’s rough to watch.
