Get her all sanded down with body work on the front headlights prin0med and painted along with the floor boards. She's a beauty! Love the 1958 Ford Fairlanes, they are a beautiful looking car.
50s ford fairlane is my specialty. I grew up helping my grandpa restore his 54s and 55s fairlane we di d probably 6 of the hard top 54s and 3 of the 55s.
That's a cool ride I've always liked those I have a 57 Fairlane 500 what's the same engine most of them are y-block 292s or 312s if the VIN starts out with a c it's a Y block Fe blocks fit right in them with the same motor mounts I like the Fe Motors better you are so lucky to find something like that
I just saw a ‘57 at a car show yesterday and it was a Y block. This one was originally a 352 FE I believe. I like FEs well enough - although I always seem to have starter problems with them. I guess that’s all Fords, really…
Agreed on wheels. I don’t dislike them but they aren’t right for the car. That gold Sweptline has been in my life for like a decade at this point. I traded it to a friend and am currently pushing to get it done. I’ve done video on some steps, but not others for some reason. I’ll definitely put something together on it before it finally leaves me.
Hey boss man, I ended up with your car today. Appreciate the video but got to admit I havnt figured out how to get the trunk open lol missing your zip ties
Haaahaha. Jorden told me you’d seen the video and really hoped it wasn’t the same car. I didn’t beat on it /that/ hard. Nowhere near as hard as he did when that wheel came off… when he transported it to Utah, we shoved the zip ties all the way in the hole for security. Should be able to reach around in there and find ‘em! Enjoy it. That’s a sweet car. I heard you’re also a transplant from WA and may make it back up here eventually. Very cool.
We owned one in the late 50's and early 60's. I believe it was blue/white. Gorgeous car. I was just a tike at the time. But I recall my dad saying that model year was the first year ford used hydraulic lifters. So we had lifter issues all the time. Does that sound right?
No enciende el carro; porqué no le llega gasolina al carburador; tanto tiempo sin encender; hay qué restaurarlo para devolverle la gloria original; me gusta el carro; no solamente ese; sino esos carros en general; saludos.
I don’t, no. I traded it to my friend with cash for the “Garbage Can” ‘66 Barracuda when he moved back to Utah. He drove it around the Salt Lake area for a bit and then sold it to another gentleman, who actually popped up in these comments.
Someone who met me a couple months ago after first seeing my videos remarked “wow. He’s exactly the same in person.” Do with that information what you will.
@@DeadDodgeGarage that's your choice. Guess I'm old school. 60s. And 70s. I even like chrome reverse. And moons. Especially on that car seen a lot of those cars in my youth.
It's in amazing condition! Looks like you had a little fun.
Great score. Sounds and looks great !

Cool old car! I'd sure daily drive it!
The Wheels look good on vehicle 👌 😊

Me gusta ese 58, me trae recuerdos de mi niñes, saludos desde Maracaibo Venezuela.
I'm pretty fond of the fairlanes. I have my great grandfather's that he bought new.
Very cool ford

12:52 Sweptline cameo. The Fairly looks like a pretty cool survivor. Personally, I'm not big on the wheels.

Like the wheels
I couldn’t watch it on my phone, So I watched it on my work computer and enjoyed every second! Thanks for the upload 😁
Cool 😎

I’m not hip to that so I couldn’t say. I don’t know what FEs do or don’t have them.
I think that Ford-o-matic starts out in second normally.
Right! That’s what I thought. But then I read that there are like separate gear ratios or something. I have no idea.

Discovery time for newbies, I guess
Wut
Out of curiousity, do you still have this car?

@@DeadDodgeGarage thats fair, at least you had fun and enjoyed it whilst you had it! :)
Dose it still rain 7 days a week when it rains there. And how can you tell you are a Washingtonian you got web between your toes.
A solid 6/7 at least
Also yes. Lol
57=58 fords look like they are already movin'. I love them cars and this vid but it's better without the character you try to portray sometimes. JMHO

You ready to sell it
I sold it back in July actually.
why?
A crime of opportunity
It's OK. For a ferd
Cool old ford , 58 dodge looks better 😆
I’d love to have one - but I actually think they’re a little funky. Haha.
Hate those wheels. Put some mag style wheels. On it. Old style. Black centered.
I really like those wheels. Anyway, I sold the car a year and a half ago.

@@DeadDodgeGarage I had a 57 2 door. Sedan. 272. V8. Automatic.
