As a boy of 10 saw Saint playing for liverpool in a cup game v Oldham 1961/2 EVERYBODY in the crowd was talking about Ian !!! been a big fan ever since 50 years ago Thanks top Guy different world!!!! and bloody funny!!!
When that draw was made it was a typically chilly December evening,on which I'd been taken to a Sunday church service. Knowing that this was going to be on,and with England,Scotland and Northern Ireland having all qualified,I rigged up my little transistor radio in my inside coat pocket with the wire running to an earpiece in one ear,which I tried to keep out of view,and was listening to the draw while sitting in the middle of the congregation in the church service. Does it count as having sinned?
Well cut off, shame about that bloke at the end, the rest of it is CLASS- the right balance of fun and professionalism by people who actually played the game AND had personalities! 🙂🙂
