    Wongi was the best hangover cure for us late 70's+ lads and ladies. Diving, or makeshift rope swing in a tree, into the fresh, cool water. Before the OH&S 80's fencing and "NO" notice board civilizations. Legendary spot. Bunyips being one of them.

      Howdy mate! Yeah, I imagine, before the OH&S came in, this place would have been an amazing super secret hideaway... Watch out for those Bunyips!!

    Yeah that's a great little spot, our doggos loved the walks around there, was a bummer the no fires, especially with the mozzies at night when we were there. Got some pretty good pics, very photogenic spot👌👌 good reviews mate

      Hi folks! Thanks for taking the time to say g'day and leave a comment! Yeah I bet the dog's loved it! Yeah, it is a shame about fires, but with so much forest around, it makes sense I suppose. Great to hear from you two again, hope all is well! Cheers, Rob!

    Thanks Rob, Wongi waterholes might have to be on the regular visit list when we get up that way 👍🍺. Brides next wrist operation is tomorrow, if all goes well we’ll be still on track for a end of March discharge and then the great adventures begin 🤞🙏🎉🍾🍺❤️🇦🇺

    We used to go there as teenagers, it’s probably our fault that you can’t have fires. Great spot can’t wait to go again it’s been way too long.

      G'day Timmy! Haha yeah... If only we still were teenagers! Haha It is a shame about the fires, but with it being a forestry... She'd go up in flames in a hurry if even a small fire got out of control I reckon! 🔥 Yeah it really is a hidden gem this one... Just off the highway too! Glad you enjoyed the clip mate. Cheers, Rob 🤠

    Are they accessible without a 4 wheel drive?

    • @TheWandererAUS
      @TheWandererAUS Před rokem

      G'day Gillian, thanks for the question, hope you enjoyed the clip! They are accessible by 2 wheel drive, as long as you really take your time down the dirt road. It is a Forestry road, and while graded, can be a little rough, especially after rain. There were 2 wheel drive cars there during my visit... just take your time, watch for the pot holes on the road, and go slow. Taking your time just means you get to enjoy the scenery longer 😀 If you end up checking them out... let me know what you think when you visit! Cheers, Rob
