- Former Israeli soldier Yair Barak returned the keys of al-Mughrabi Gate, one of the doors of the western wall of Al-Aqsa Mosque to Palestinians, 56 years after he stole them, he says, while serving with the Israeli army in Jerusalem.
Video footage showed Barak handing the keys to Sheikh Azzam Al-Khatib, director-general of the Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem
Barak, now a researcher at Tel Aviv University, expressed his remorse for stealing the keys and said this was a symbolic step that should continue with the Israeli government returning to Palestinians their lands, rights, respect, independence, freedom and security.

There was no such thing as a "Palestinian"; the name came from The Roman's to insult the Jews. That identity brought out Nationalists around early Arafat Fatah times generations ago. During World War 2 the Mufti of The Palestinian Mandate met with Hitler, so this is the kind of individual we're are talking about and before that, there over 100K Jews. Under the Ottomans who ruled their for 500 years things were peaceful, only when it was between the British or France to handle different areas did British get stuck with the partition park. Do you know how many official documents there are of the Arabs selling land. It was only after the groups that opposed that tried to force them to stop. Both sides have done wrong but the innocent blood of those terror attacks during the 1st & 2 Intifada was such evil acts and now they were focusing directly on civilians. Suicide bombers stricking public buses with bombs one time 2 in one day. In markets, Pizza places in afternoon lunch times. My uncle was born in Israel to parents who fled Uzbekistan on foot after their families were murdered for being Jewish. On the way, his grandfather was murdered by police in Afghanistan. His mother was expelled out of the Old City by Jordan in 1948. He did not choose to be born in Israel, and his parents didn't choose to be attacked in their home country. There is heartlessness in many places. If you only call Jews heartless for seeking a safe home, then you're deciding who has a heart based on who is Jewish rather than who commits crimes.
