  • This is my conversation with Cliff Hewitt. It took place on 4/4/2022 from his home in London.
    Cliff Hewitt is always on the edge of something new. As a groundbreaking musician in the electronic drum world, Cliff continues to challenge his field by incorporating new technology and staggering levels of musicianship into all of his work. Among the impressive stable of artists that Cliff has worked with are Apollo440 and the Pet Shop Boys. Cliff’s recognition of the value of music has resulted in an established working relationship with Last Voices. An active, groundbreaking, and talented musician, Cliff has truly contributed to the Last Voices mission.

    Eddie's record stall was on the ground floor of the indoor market at the Concourse Shopping Centre in Skelmersdale.
    A great source of music, I bought many albums and twelve inch singles from Eddie.
    I also used to visit Probe Records in Liverpool, Pete Burns worked there at one point.
    I went with Cliff to a studio in Bury called Square One in the 80s where he was recording an album called 'Celebrating Life' with a guy called Alex.
    I don't know what became of that album.
    Cliff was really friendly.
    I recall him playing the Tom-tom drums with his spikey hair on two electronic pads to a tune called 'Driller Killer'.
    Such a long time ago.
    We picked him up from Old Skem and travelled to Square One Studios in a brown Porsche 944.
    Glad he continues to do well.
