His parents are well paid proffesionals but not to the point where they can live like millionaires but to the point where they can live a very comfortable lifestyle and pay tuition fees. Most likely own a big house and can afford holidays without worry. Household probably takes in near or over 6 figure salary.

Although you meant it as a compliment, it's off the mark. Why say he's "fracking loaded"? Only because you can't understand why someone who isn't would refuse $1,000. By saying he's fracking loaded you attempt to diminish his act in the eyes of others. And it's not kudos for his honesty. It's kudos for declining the money almost anyone, loaded or not, would have accepted. After all, he could have been honest and also taken the money. It's not his honesty that deserves your admiration, it's his unselfishness, an unselfishness most of us will never attain, loaded or not.
