This was only the second Queen song I ever heard. I was into Bohemian Rhapsody in December 1975 as everyone was, and a friend lent me the Sheer Heart Attack album. Brighton Rock was the first one and I lay on the floor with the record player speakers on either side of my head.
    An amazing first time experience.
    I've loved Queen ever since.

This was THE song that sold me on Queen - the first real instrumental I had heard, and I bought every album before and since. The second part of the solo used a tape loop to create 2 echoes which Brian used to build harmonies as Freddie did vocally on The Prophet's Song. Pure genius.

The guitar parts in songs such as this one, innuendo, was it all worth it, i want it all etc blow me away. Brian May is such a talent and i love some of his solo stuff too. Resurrection is a song you need to listen to.

  • @celticpoet21

Epic! A band of renaissance men! Live, that guitar solo sounds like a symphony! Live in Houston is as close to the album in length and similarity you can get, while live at Earls court, live killers, Wembley and onward are mind-blowing! That guitar solo has been Brian's labor of love that started when he was with the band Smile, evolving over time to be used in the Queen track "son and daughter". In fact he even plays a medley mix of Brighton rock and son and daughter at the Odeon Hammersmith in 1975. Over the years, Brian has continued to evolve the solo into the full guitar solo track from the 90's "last horizon", to a completely new track he wrote for Nasa in 2019 called "new horizon". During his most current guitar solo during the Rhapsody tour (which has been postponed) is out of this universe! From what I've seen on youtube, he stands on this huge, really tall platform (made to look like he's standing on an asteroid) in front of this huge screen that video projects outer space, etc and the solo consists of bits of Brighton Rock, Last horizons and his latest New Horizons composition and some of Antonin Dvorak's" New world" symphony blended in.

Brian was sick with mono while the band was trying to record this album. This was the only complete song he was able to contribute. The other songs were just waiting for Brian to add his parts. This song introduced his use of the 3 echo plex solo harmonies. Later, Freddie used this technique on the middle vocals for The Prophet's Song.

Nothing 'ere need come between us tell me love, what do you say?"

If my mother should discover how I spent my holiday
It would be of small avail to talk of magic in the air
    I'll say farewell"
Oh Rock of Ages, do not crumble, love is breathing still

Queen just didn’t do that ... everything was part of the entire song and I have never felt that “when will this end” during any of Brian’s guitar solos or for that matter the rare John bass solo or Roger drum solo... bottom line they are “never boring” 👑❣️👑❣️👑

The inserts of the black guy get old after the 4th or 5th time, still great reaction.

Nice guy, bad reaction. too many interruptions, too many stupid jingles. not my channel.

I suggest not stoping the video continously to make a comment: viewers can´t enjoy the listening in this way, and that´s the goal. You´d better expose in the end of listening.

That’s the point of his channel. He also tells you at the beginning of his videos that he talks a lot and pauses a lot and if you don’t like it watch the original or somebody elses’ channel (his words, not mine) That’s why he calls it Jack That Back. In my opinion he is the best. 🤷🏻‍♀️
