UPDATE | Marula festival under way in Limpopo

The annual official opening of the First Fruit Season 2020, to honour the cultural heritage of Ku Luma Vukanyi kicks off today in Limpopo.
The festival, will include a tourism career fair and expo, half-marathon and fun run, exhibition, golf challenge, old ladies soccer tournament, 4×4 off-road challenge, comedy night, jazz and gospel music festival.
The event is aimed at promoting knowledge and the art of brewing Marula Beer which is slowly fading away.
The current generation is also not skilled on how to sustain this rare indigenous technology .
The brewing of Marula is livelihood to most women in the villages who sell the beer on the busy roads of the province.
Our reporter Mike Maringa and cameraman Hulisani Livhebe are covering the event and had a chat with the SADC president of the traditional healers association Doctor Slyvester Hlati.
