    I think one unique selling point for Crofty's hc evo is that the frame is an 80mm frame but it's a bit longer, making it low for control but long enough for someone with a larger foot - side note, i think this is the first time anywhere i've been able to see that there are cross braces on the bottom side of the frame between the wheels, so i imagine that would aid quite significantly in its stiffness and responsiveness. No idea why no one seems to have mentioned that before. Feels like PS engineering and marketing need to sit closer together perhaps!

      not to forget that you can rock any Wheel. However, turning and changing the Wheels is very fiddly. The rail and the upper buckle also make annoying noises. If you buy the FR Spin instead, you'll save a lot of money and get a skate that won't get on your nerves. I have both and regret buying the HC EVO. It's a bit too narrow for my foot at the front, so my left big toe goes numb. But I still feel like it could be tighter in the middle, which is a negative for certain tricks.

    I have always said my second favorite liner of all time is the USD base, that came in my Aeons several years ago. I image its the same, or essentially the same as the one in the zoom. It is ever so slightly behind my intuitions for my favorite, but it is close. closer than it should be for a $25 vs $220 liner (US Dollars). I have tried a lot of liners in search of the perfect one too. Reigns, RL1s, almost all of the power slides, them stock, razors, M12s stock, Standards. Love the USDs, perfect amount of padding and good heel lock padding in the back.

    #1 PS Storm, best boot ever made, more people should try, boot is high end the rest "budget"... Price is great for what you get! Fits very similar to Zoom but wraps around the foot nicer with flexy upper, Fatboy liner, 260mm 4x84 rockered (or 3x110 flat) frame, best 165 mounting on the market...
    #2 PS Next Charcoal 90, fantastic versatile skate, flat or any rocker on a long and low 90
    #3 UFR 90 Intuition, buy soulplates and change from "wizard" to agressive 😮👏🏻
    4# FE X7D (90/100), that frame is as good as one from Endless while the whole skate costs only a little more than frame only 😳

    • @ericbernardi8116
      @ericbernardi8116 Před měsícem +2

      @@StreetBladerBlokeFor normal to wide feet it's perfect (except if you need V-cut for toe press 🤔)... It's the most supportive (non carbon) boot I know. But I would highly recommend to upgrade the liner to Intuitions or Prime Bulletproof, the stock Fatboy although comfy is not ideal choice for super technical stuff...

      @@ericbernardi8116thanks for it, just looked at the storm, it reminds me of imperial I used to skate, still have it but for rain skating only, liner is recall liner, u r right not much support for technical things I suppose. I m tempted of zoom pro to try trinity mount for wiz moves and see if that's any good. Or will go with cj2 or twister xt if nothing else.
      I prefer 165mm even for technical moves. But would love to give trinity a try

    • @ericbernardi8116
      @ericbernardi8116 Před 29 dny +1

      @@stormyink6359 🤔 I think so... Hard to say, as the sizing is different... The Storm 41-42 is a real 42 while Next 42-43 is more like a 42.5 😅 I have enough toe room in both shells but if I had to go a larger shell for Storm I guess it would be too wide for me...
      The middle and the heel box are clearly wider though, the toe box is also higher and the upper material softer, I don't know any other skate with more forgiving fit... Definitvely check the mondo, if you go larger than Next you will have more room, if you go down "half" size it might be about the same... Hope this helps 🙄

    When I was 17, 20 years ago, I used to Rollerblade everywhere. I'd keep up with the city bus 10km to down town to class (because it made stops for pickup/drop off) I remember liking that it was like I was gliding. Then I wore the front wheel down using it as a break. My mother bought me another pair, but they didn't glide. They'd like stop after 7 feet or so. Just wouldn't keep rolling like my previous pair. I never Rollerblade again. What's a good pair for gliding around?

    I really liked the idea of the Aeon 80 but the 8-9 is just a little too small even with 2nd Skin (no wraps), 45 strap removed. Is the Intuition Wizard liner thinner or equal to 2nd skin? I should have tried that before getting rid of them.

    Right, settle in everyone, this is going to be a long one. I was on here a couple of days ago banging on about an issue with wheel rub when switching to a flat setup on some Roces R1 frames. However, my REAL problem is the reason I was switching over to my aggressive frames in the first place. I usually ride an 80mm setup on some ground Control HD 80mm frames, but have managed to round the heads on a couple of the axles as they’d seized in the frame. I got one out, but have tried two different sets of bolt removers on the other to no avail, so looks like, once I’ve somehow cut out the offending wheel, I’m in the market for new frames. I was just going to straight-up replace them, but have now seen the Ground Control FSK frames on Loco. Has anyone skated both? Anyone know how they compare feel/performance wise? Also, I’ve seen various whispers on the internet about ‘V1’ and ‘V2’ versions - does anyone know which the ones currently listed on Loco are? I’ve tried looking on Ground Controls website and socials, but there is sweet fuck all information on there so hoping somebody can speak from experience. Thanks!

    • @LocoSkates
      @LocoSkates  Před 22 dny

      HD frames are better if you want to be most optimised for 80mm wheels... they are made for 80mm whereas the GC FSK frame take a 90mm so will ride a bit higher (and longer) than the HD frame. This means the HD frame will have lower centre of gravity and tighter turns... but the FSK frame will have a bit more stability (because its longer). You also have the bonus that if you want to ride 90mm wheels later then you could do that in the FSK frames. The GC FSK frames on Loco are V.2

    • @mattyoung7415
      @mattyoung7415 Před 22 dny

      @LocoSkates Hi again Loco. Thanks, as always, for your response. The time you guys take out to give advice is greatly appreciated. I was trying to find a picture online of someone using the FSK’s with 80’s to see how they look/fit, but no dice. I’m not sure if I’d ever want to switch up to 90mm, so is the difference in length/height really noticeable? (I use the large (270mm) HD frame). I’m not sure if I’ve been slightly put off the HD’s, so would actually be grateful for any other recommendations for flat UFS 80mm frames that aren’t wildly expensive (NHS salaries are not conducive to expensive skate components). Thanks again.
