0:55 The chord progression in the choir here I can barely find in any other remix and yet they're the actual chords used in the original song. So glad this remix actually used this progression it makes this section sound so much more epic.
right?? while working on my orchestral arrangement i realized that all the covers ive been hearing have been changing that progression to the one you hear in the world revolving itself. i guess because its a bit unconventional for a song like this since its kind of stationary and doesnt really lead to the tonic but it sounds so cool to have those long chords in the choir!!
Interesting
Perldrop what you doing here?
Huh neat pearl is here
pleasant surprise here
Doing the DPCM for this must have been a huge pain, great job [BIG BRAN]

@@_anthrax101_5 I tip my hat to you
You could say it must have been a.....[big pain] :)
the added harmonies actually make this sound a lot more rich and flavorful than the original BIG SHOT
I agree!!
I'm not much of a music person, but... what harmonies were added?
@@Rubberman202 the second half has loads of little extended harmonies sprinkled throughout, like at 3:24 there's a nice added chord
@@realykid There actually is a chord added at that point in the original song, but it is hard to hear. Listen very carefully to the right side if you're using headphones, the added notes are actually quite a bit lower in pitch--only making them harder to hear. They're not the same instrument either, kind of a strange, almost-buzzy sound instead. I only figured it out after listening to the version you can buy/download since CZcams uploads generally kill the sound bits.
@@Rubick471 wow, i never heard that before in the original lol. pretty cool
i didn't think you'd do it but you did!! love that you extended the ghost fight bit at the end
(...also for a second I thought the spamton neo strings were part of the note visualizer)

1:08 It's barely there, but I can still hear the voice. Love it. For some reason hearing that semi-hidden voice is my favourite part of BIG SHOT
I seriously need to get faster with my arrangements...
Great job! You're the only one I know that takes the full potential of VRC6 and it sounds really amazing.
that is true, I wasn't even interested in 8 bit covers until I met branflakes, they capture original pieces' details really great
My serotonin levels _skyrocket_ when someone finishes the "Dummy!" riff at the end of this song. Amazing work as always!
It always makes me mad when someone doesn’t finish that, it sounds so good at the end

PHENOMENAL work with this cover! The part at 0:55 with THE WORLD REVOLVING is my favorite part of BIG SHOT, and you did amazing with it! I'm glad that the EarthBound "WOW!" samples are in this remix, along with the hidden vocals at 1:08 (Even if they're a bit quiet)
I also like the Dummy! melody at 4:35 being finished, you did great with this entire cover!

Knew it was only a matter of time until you'd arrange this song, and unsurprisingly it came out great!
As soon as I heard the 8-bitified phone dingle I knew this was gonna be good. Not only was I not disappointed, this blew me the [Fifty Percent Off] away.
0:54 in particular is amazing and actually sounds even better than Toby's original. I am amazed. Thank you so much for the work you put into this!! 💜
Branflakes, I've been thinking about why I like your tracker remixes lately. I think it's because your transcriptions do not lose any instruments in the process. When other artists-from chiptune artists to pianists to violinists on CZcams-transcribe, they all drop out some instruments/lines of notes in their transcription and that's fine on their own but it doesn't provide as much depth as when all instruments are present.
Thank you for taking the time to painstakingly transcribe most, if not all, instruments out of each and every song. Your hard work shows. I'll always look forward to your new works.
He pulled the strings and made them ring
Pipis
i love the phone sound mimic that plays consistently throughout the whole song! it was a really cool detail that i almost missed the first time but noticed on the second time listening. realizing it went on the whole song and not just specific parts was really funky
I think I speak for musicians in the comments when I say this sounds as complicated to replicate as it is to listen to it. Remixes are very delicate when it comes to arrangements because it's hard to transcribe someone else's intentions into your own instruments and get the same point across slightly differently, but this sounds perfectly transcribed and even with some personality. (I noticed the interesting dynamic volume for the lead melody.) Even the increased octave too. It really adds to the heroism and I think even the original would benefit from the slight variation of repetition to emphasise it's sense of urgency more.
Great remix, mister. It takes a good musician to fix up something like this and it's very inspiring.
0:55 YESS. Why does almost no one uses this chord progression even though they're the actual chords! Loving this cover man :D
I know right? Everyone except for a handful fucks it up. It's how I separate the good remixes from the bad
Anyone who adds an extra jingle at the end instead of ending it abruptly like the original immediately gets a one up for me, great cover as always Bran!
I hate it that it doesn't end abruptly
yoo, you included the background vocals! most remixes don't but i'm glad you kept it in :D
HOLY SHIT YOU EVEN INCLUDED THE PULLS THE STRINGS AND MAKES THEM RING PART YOU ABSOLUTE LEGEND
Wow. At the very start it sounds like a chiptuned version of the Orchestral Hit sample! And the sound effect at 0:20? I love the timbre of the lead at 1:08, and it even changes up like it were of an electric guitar! I also loved the triangle wave kicking in at 2:19!
What an awesome cover in just chiptune! Bravo!
Fun fact: the beginning's melody is actually not an orchestra hit, but instead a Vins I Detache with bitcrusher from Squidfont orchestra sf2.
This is like hearing the song for the first time all over again
Thank you. Seriously
Wow, I'm impressed how he "recreated" the background's voice, amazing!
youtube just generated this at the top of a playlist labled "music of japan"
I’m amazed at how you nail every single one of your remixes, they are always a blast to listen to!

Absolute banger. Nice touch by finishing the dummy theme at the end of the video. Great rendition!
I think this is the only remix that nailed the 0:54 part. Perfect harmony
I completely agree.
A handful of remixers get the chords right there. GSO, hodgepodge, and soon, me when I find the motivation to upload mine
Hearing the end of Ghost Fight/Dummy! at the end was so much more satisfying than I could have expected.
Phenomenal work as per usual!
it only appears on dummy so there's no need for ghost fight to be mentioned
this is the best chiptune cover of a song ive ever heard
also the glitchy effect at the beginning with Spamton coming down was awesome
you hit so many details that others just *skip over* in this cover, all with limited channels
amazing stuff man i love this
First rendition of Big Shot where ghost fight is finished. I don't know how many times I would finish the tune in my head just for it to be cut short. Awesome work as always!
WOW! THIS REMIX IS [Fire]
THAT’S [Fire] AND [Burning Pain] IN MY [Heart]
not gonna lie, spamton's strings tricked me by making me think they were notes more than i'd like to admit
Finally.
You've done all three.
And not a surprise at all, it sounded very, VERY good.
HOLY [[Cungadero]] THIS IS ONE [Heaven]LY ARRANGEMENT!
I am in love with how you mixed this, harmonies you couldn't hear easily before shine so much brighter in this cover, _especially_ in the freedom lietmotif section. I was amazed when I first heard that part isolated from the original BIG SHOT and you brought it out wonderfully!
Also finishing off the Dummy! part was cute.
YOOOOO, Famitracker seems to be a nice thing, and YOU do just prove that.
That thing here sounds Amazing =D.
You truly are a [[BIG SHOT]] now.
The Fact that it could play exactly like this on a real NES even makes it feel more nostalgic, i like that NSF file system, even my old MP3 Player plays it which saves me a lot of storage.
Oh hell ye, I've been waiting for this ever since chapter 2 release, and your cover did not disappoint at all!
OK BUT THE WORLD REVOLVING MELODY JUMPING UP AN OCTAVE FOR THE SECOND REPETITION AT 1:08 GOES SO HARD AND I WILL NOW BE FOREVER DISAPPOINTED THAT THE ORIGINAL DOESN’T DO THAT
I wonder if a future secret boss will use the leitmotiv in that high octave.
Just imagine if an old game had a banger like this
Clearly you haven't heard Tim Follin's work
@@DogsRNice Welp, thanks for the introduction lol
First track i look under his name is already an absolute banger
Branflakes you [little sponge], you did it again, another great cover
Quality stuff [My Dude]! The chords in the second part went hard and the ending was a cherry on top!
I found your channel at random once, and I've been listening in like a damn champ!
Love your ARMS Grand Prix 8 one! Best version imo!
this video and this channel is so underrated
1:08 love how the world revolving melody goes up a pitch here
Love the little tiny details and pitchbends you throw in. The little things really make a huge difference in this case. Orchestral hits also sound amazing, those are difficult to pull off with arps. Kudos.
THANK YOU FOR THAT ENDING. GOD i've been waiting too long to hear that resolve
I just thought how cool it would be if there was a boss that uses these music graph things (idk how are they actually called) as attacks
I wonder what it would sound like if the notes his strings were on were being constantly played.
The air crackles with freedom
damn bro the octopus playing this song is cracked
i thought spamton neo's strings were notes and i wondered what sound they were making
probably a pretty unpleasant chord since they're so close together hahahha
They're the strings that make them ring
Okay idk why but the phone ring sound is really pleasing.
(As is the whole thing!)
Arranged by the classic you've come to expect!
the [[trilogy]] is complete now!
Been waiting for this lol thanks
I'm vibing so hard, this cover slaps
The covers are always top tier but the animated sprites are such a good consistent detail!
I like how every 16 beats spamtons head rotates in the opposite direction
that dummy reference at the end is all i needed to hear
2A03+VRC6 is a beautiful chip and you're able to make the most of it. This channel is pure gold.
Je pense qu'il s'agit là de meilleure remix de ce morceau ! J'aime beaucoup la fin :)
Wow, he even included the exact lyrics in the middle that people have a hard time understanding, very impressive
I can't resist listening to this on repeat.
bro this is so poggers man keep up the good work
Never had I ever clicked a notification so fast. No regrets.

i have nothing to say! this is great!
I'm gonna give you +100 for actually finishing ghost fight at the end, I never knew I needed that until right now
A [Bold New Taste] AS ALWAYS, GOTTA LOVE IT
dang ok sounds like a [[BIG BANGER]]
This is without a doubt the best BIG SHOT remix i have heard
Ok it has been surpassed but it's still a solid 2
As a musician myself and someone who considers themselves to be decent ish at harmonisation, I'm actually really impressed at how you've been able to recreate those harmonies. If I was to do something like this, it would actually take me a decent bit of studying this song because there's a lot of little really subtle things. Also what the hell, this song is just a jam
This sounds amazing, just like always!
i love that you'v used the voice samples
Saying that I just waited for this is an understatement...
Even recreating the vocals REALLY good work!!
idk how youre doing this but ive been listening to this on loop
i love how you did the world revolving part in its second half. has a more emotional feel to it :(
I absolutley love that note at 1:04
i love how the earthbound wow is still there along with most of the other vocals
This is awesome omg
I was just listening to your remixes this morning and wondering when you'd post again!! This is a really nice surprise, great stuff :] Pleased the vocals are still there!
dear god how do you not have a million subscribers this is awesome
I don't think anyone else manages to capture the feel of the original tracks with 8bit arrangements as well as you do.
banger cover of a banger song
Sounds even better in VRC6-
I've been waiting for this!
This is such an intense remix! Absolutely feel the gravity of what Spamton G Spamton has become. And the ending is so clutch
ah yes, my favorite piece of Japanese music according to youtube. still a banger tho
Been waiting forever...worth it.
Playing this through my Famicom is a transcendent experience. This is some unreal work!
Been waiting for this one!
I feel like the vocals are a little too quiet compared to the original but other than that it's 🔥
With DPCM you can't be overly picky with volume control unfortunately
I'm sure someone will edit it in sometime in the future.
I thought it was fine
@@ozzie_goat Well yeah but in famitracker you can change the volume settings of each channel, yeah it isn't terribly realistic that way but these particular songs aren't meant to run on real hardware anyway so I feel like you're justified in fudging things a bit imo
@@jacobhall1353 that's what I meant, going into the famitracker settings and changing the software mixing volume not the actual hardware dpcm volume because I know it effects the triangle )and I think the noise as well)
KRIS, I'VE BEEN [Chipped] INTO [8-Bits]!!!
Phenomenal as always! Although it's sad that it's equally underrated, I can never wait to see more of your amazing work!
2 years and this still hits
Oh ho? Very nicely done "Big Shot"!
Banger.

SOMEONE FINALLY FINISHED THE Dummy! SECTION AT THE END
