How great would it be to see Juan take delivery of the first kit and do a series on its construction from uncrating to first flight/sign off test hours? Special guest appearances of Pete the assistant and D. Gryder providing in depth coverage of the items of concern, and more importantly, the number of tacos missing throughout the area. Do it Brownie!

Thanks Juan. Very helpful and happy to start getting some real numbers. This, not surprisingly, seems very well positioned to dominate the market space. The name and support behind it alone will tip many folks on the fence of their build selection. For some it'll be aluminum versus fabric. I had 2 competitors in mind, but this blows them away. Only thing on my personal list that leads this one would be the Bearhawk model 5 which is apples and oranges. Totally different planes, missions and profiles. Still, this could accommodate most missions and widen the gap needed between my toy and my transportation. Interesting. Ugh, with the 1 year expectation was 'we'll take your money today and delivery in Q4' :)

With pop rivets this will be a very fast build time like their RV12. This will be such a popular plane it will out sell all the RV models. Vans has come a long way since the RV-4 I help in building back in the day over 40 years ago. Back then you did just about everything and the build hours were very long. I want one when they are taking orders.

What a nice looking aircraft! Great to see some more competition in the off-field STOL arena. Especially a Vans - they've got some top notch stuff! I'd want to leave it unpainted like this - looks great I think. I suppose it would be a chore polishing all that real estate, though. Shocked at the price! I'd have figured at least double that in today's world. I just paid over $310 for THREE hydraulic hoses for my backhoe today! OUCH!! I looked for the 24k gold lining, but alas ... 😁

I've worked on a variety of Helios, PC-6's, and even a Do-27 in the mix. It looks like the team behind the 15 clearly understands bush aviation - not just the STOL performance, but the necessity for easy field maintenance as well. The Helio and Do-27's are cool with their LE slats and other STOL devices but from an mx perspective it can get very involved. Good to see this plane focuses on operational simplicity - the truth is most RV builders aren't gonna be too keen on doing 50-hour inspections and following ICA's to the letter. Of course, since it's an EAB, it's only a matter of time for those that *are* willing to be more involved with their airplanes to add aftermarket devices! And I'd love to see that too - I can already see the VG's, fairing mods, and bellypods coming!

They wanted their own Draco? :) 50k isn't bad although the engine is 40k+? really not a big fan of kit building, imagine buying bare parts from a car maker and having to do it all yourself. Including paint. Hopefully the proposal for factory built experimentals is approved. And factory built experimentals should be encouraged to be a step towards certification. An FAA guy can assess the design and by virtue of practical tests in owner hands it can be fully certified. Kit building is part of the poor state of GA. It's way too cuba.
Is the stabilator a complexity risk? seems a little ambitious for a kit.

Looks like you’ll need to move on from considering this 👋🏻
