Remove water temp sensor VW Touareg 2.5 TDi 2005

Where and how to remove the well hidden water temperature sensor on a 2005 VW Touareg 2.5 TDi 5 cylinder, struggled to find any info that helped, hopefully you will find this useful.

It is possible, but normally will have fault code in engine ECU, if you scan for faulty.
Another fan run on is a faulty pressure switch on AC ? or the fan control unit, but should leave a code in engine or AC controllers
