Hero is as bright as a button. For3 weeks old he is so aware of his surroundings, looking around and his eyes are focusing on things. He is a littls love. As our all of your children ❤

Hiya, aw Laurien we have been away for the wknd and I can't tell you how great it was to climb into my own bed last night and catch up with you on this vlog... Little man is just absolutely beautiful and me and Caitlin were sat like 'aaaaawwwww' ...you are right it doesn't feel like baby watch was all that long ago and to think Hero is 3 weeks already is crazy....you just look after yourself in these early weeks and enjoy every single cuddle...you are doing fantastic 😍 xx

We have taken sceen time away from ours Mon-Fri for a month or two now, because like you said the grief we got when it was time to come off was ridiculous! They even forgot how to play nicely together face to face! They would just argue without screens! Thankful we’ve seen massive improvement since taking them away! Their imaginations and creativity are back and it’s soo lovely! They get 2hrs on Saturday and Sunday, although they can switch their days depending on the weather, they skipped Sunday this weekend as they knew today the weather was going to be miserable, so after having their dinner tonight, pjs on , teeth done and all that, they’re getting the 2 hrs they gave up on Sunday. the weather was absolutely beautiful Sunday. So no I don’t think you’re strict! Kids need to be kids, and they can’t do that with constant screens.
Yes, my kids behaviour has improved so much since limiting screens to weekends. You think a screen makes things easier but it just creates more problems!

Hi Laurien, Thankyou for sharing a lovely video of your day with your little ones. Little Hero is absolutely adorable bless him your doing so well I think you’re an amazing Mum. Lilac and Flossie are so cute. With screen time this is a difficult one for many parents but when I was little we didn’t have the devices that we have now and I remember watching children’s programmes in the morning I think it was Playschool and I loved it and magic roundabout I remember them well and also Bagpuss. I also remember after school we watched a bit of children’s tv but we mostly played outside on our bikes or played games and Lego. Nowadays it’s all about gaming and phones and tablets. My youngest didn’t get given a tablet until he was 7 and he liked watching CBeebies when he was very young. Now he is 14 he has a mobile phone which is only recent and his Xbox and iPad but I don’t let him use them until he has done his homework. I wish though my son had the childhood I had without devices because it has got out of hand. I think you are doing the right thing by restricting your children’s time on them, I unfortunately have fallen into the trap of letting him on them too much, he will soon have to realise that he has got to stop being on them too much as he will be studying for his GCSE’s before long and those are way too important as is all education and being a child if I did it all over again I would definitely be more restrictive than I am now. It is such a trap isn't it! We all fall into it. I regret buying the eldest two nintendo switches when I did. It's unnecessary for primary school children I wish I'd waited until secondary. As long as we have a balance it isnt so bad but as you say I wish it wasn't a thing like when we were younger.

We found similar behaviours with my 8 year old after using screens so we put into place screen time on weekend only max 2 hours and not before midday (he would be on devices as soon as he opened his eyes)! We have found that his behaviour is so much better but it’s what works for you!
Also the switch has a timer built in so will turn off when limit reached xxx
That's a good idea to do a 2 hour limit on the weekend and thank you I will look for the timer! That's great it switches off xxx

My boys get screen time after school, it allows them to wind down. They have from 4-6pm, then its dinner time&the bedtime routine. My boys barely watch tv, now that its getting to the nicer weather they will spend most their time in the garden x

You're doing sooooo fab hun. My twins were just like little man and wanted to be held/ was unsettled all the way through the first year. They were combi-fed breast/bottle. It's so draining hun, you'll get time back again soon lovely. Mine are 20 months old now, similar to Lilac. It's a new kind of chaos isn't it!! Mine are still up all night 😅 I think some bubbas just are. You are doing so well 💗

They do play so well. I've noticed a lot better since we removed most of the screen time. She probably would yeah but she really enjoys it and I think its good for her to get the vitamins it has x

Hero is just like my daughter. She hardly slept at all and I couldn’t put her down. She had to be in the midst of everything. I remember my friend came to watch her through the night one night so I could try and sleep. She lay in her arms wide awake watching a movie with her and she was only a few weeks old at the time. She watched the whole movie totally engrossed in it. 😆 Intellectually she was above average in her school subjects always 3-4 years advanced for her age. I always put the refusing to sleep down to that. Too much of an active brain. So you might have a wee genius on your hands. 😃
As for telly time? There is no set rules other than what feels comfortable to each mother individually. I always allowed telly time at breakfast when she was a toddler. Then we’d play and learn all day and she’d get a few favourite programmes after 3. At school age telly time was straight after school as I prepared dinner because after dinner it was homework, a family board game, bath and story time before bed. The older she got she preferred hanging with friends after homework and dinner and would watch a little telly before bed. We were never in at the weekend to watch telly, we were out on adventures.
That’s what was comfortable for me and your routine is 100% right for you. Never compromise it based on what others do. We’re all different and unique and no one knows what’s best for a mother’s children other than the mother herself. You’re going a great job Mama. 😘xx

Screen time is such a hard one, its how society is now. Mine have screen time less in school week. and they can spend more time on weekends & holidays. Children are not children like when we were young. its sad really. technology can be a nitemare at times. hard with peer preasure also.
No they're not are they it's sooo different and peer pressure is definitely huge!

I can't get over how much flossy has grown I don't think they need screen time play some music in the background classical jazz pop whatever you want that will just give him something in the background while they're playing your kids are so good at that and I can't get over how much hero notices the camera

My parents let me play on weekends. That said, despite having foster siblings, I was an only child growing up, because my parents 'other children were much older than I was. I am also disabled, so there's that.
But although I enjoyed my games, it got boring after a while.
Hero is adorable can't believe he is 3 weeks old how is it going with Lilac sleeping in the same bedroom doe's she wake up Laurien you are looking healthy and relaxed 🤗🫶🙏🏴
Me too!! Its going well at the moment. When we move (hopefully soon) Curtis is going to build the girls a bed in the same room together so that should be nice for them. Thank you so much Deb 🩷🩷
