CVTL Responded to the double disaster COVID-19 and Cyclone Seroja

- CVTL led Cyclone Seroja caused massive flooding throughout Timor-Leste in April 2021
Many families lost their homes, with 41 fatalities
Over 4000 homes were destroyed or damaged. CVTL evacuated over 2,000 households and managed 7 of the 57 evacuation centres.
CVTL provided clean water basic food supplies including hot meals and sacks of rice.
Assistance provided also included family/baby/hygiene kits, kitchen and cleaning construction tools, sleeping mats, tarpaulins, mosquito nets, clothing, masks, electricity credit, agriculture tools and seeds.
In total, Timor-Leste had nearly 20,000 covid cases with 119 COVID related deaths. CVTL staff and volunteers had a national public education campaign provided volunteer doctors and nurses, disinfected public places constructed toilets and set up hand-washing facilities
