- Hello everyone!
This week we’re making a Self-Love Spell Bottle. It’s a really simple method that I use all the time and the ingredients are ones that you’ll probably have in your stash - and if not, they are really easy to find in shops or online. My jar is decorated because that’s my preference, but you absolutely don’t have to decorate yours if you don’t want to!
I really hope my video inspires you to have a go at making your own bottle but if you don’t want to, my finished bottle will be available on my Etsy store this evening - my shop name is FiftySomething Witch.

I love making spell bottles, it's telling how often I make them when my 16 Yr old granddaughter now puts in her requests for them for certain things, its very normal in my family for them to request things like this from me. Or "can i please do a spell for..." I suppose as they've all grown up with it, it's part of their day to day living.
We all make them differently and that's a good thing as it's full of our personal intentions for the spell bottle. I enjoy that final sealing action, sealing in the positive intention. Like you i never seal up a banishing bottle. Great video👍

I do not put a bow on mine but that is a lovely touch and depending on the spell i either ginde them together or leave them whole! Oh I am so happy to hear that! When I was editing it I couldn’t believe it was over 30 minutes, it definitely didn’t seem that long when I was filming! I’m so glad you’re feeling inspired. I did mean to say during the video that you don’t have to buy special bottles - you can use whatever you’ve got to hand. I just love these ones because they are such a prefect shape and size. I got some bottles yesterday from a 2euro store that had seed beads, so I emptied them and gave the beads to a couple of girls so I have my bottles ready. They're a bit smaller but yes with the corks. I want the waxing moon energy so I'm waiting a bit. Now I look forward to your spell pouch video! I ordered some velvet coloured pouches online to try it 🙂

Hi, I made this self love bottle,didn't have jasmine so I used orange peel for happiness and love instead!

Love this! Back in the day, I used empty baby food jars that my mom saved for storage. I still have the protection jar I made for my car in 2000. Feeling inspired to make some new ones!

You’re welcome. I’m actually doing a video about ritual tools this weekend so that might be helpful for you. But as far other bits and pieces go, only you know what’s right for you. It all depends on what area of Witchcraft appeals to you most. Not everyone loves herbs and plants, and not everyone is into crystals or tarot. It’s personal to you ☺️

Hi! Thank you so much for this video. It's so soothing to hear you talk while showing how you create your spell jar. I have a question for you. I understand that you love your spell jar because they act as a visual reminder of the spell and how you create them. Is that aspect the main difference with spell pouches? How do their use differ from one another in your practice? Thank you so much for your advice! (And sorry if my english is a bit weird, it's not my native language so it can be messy sometimes).
Hi Camille! Thank you so much for your lovely comment, I’m so glad you enjoyed my video! That’s a great question. For me, the greatest difference between a bottle and a bag is the ultimate ‘end’ that the item will have. So I would choose a bottle for a spell that is intended to have a long ‘life’ - like the one in my video. I would assume that the owner of the bottle would always want to feel love and care for themself and I feel that a bottle has a greater permanence than a bag. I would choose a bag if I was making a spell to bring me the result I want from a job interview, for example. It would be a very specific spell for that occasion and I would have it with me during the interview - a bag would be much more practical in this instance, and once its work was done, I would release it. I would only have to reverse the knots and let the contents go. I really hope this makes sense! I think the important thing is to do what is right for you at that moment. As long as you have a clear outcome in mind, the ‘vessel’ to carry your spell is absolutely up to you ☺️

You’re so welcome Emma, I’m really glad you’re inspired to make your own. I’m not sure where you are in the world, but here in the UK we have a shop called Hobbycraft and I buy my bottles from there. They come in a pack of 5 and cost about £4, and they are about 3” tall. They are the perfect size for this little project. I hope you manage to find some. Thank you so much for watching! ♥️

You're very welcome! Most of my ingredients are from my garden, I harvest and dry them myself. Others I usually buy from small businesses on Etsy or from online shops like Bramble and Bone x
I’m really happy to have found this video and your channel! With items such as the crystal chips, or charms on the outside of the bottle, could you keep these and cleanse them to reuse again? And would you dispose of the natural ingredients in a garden for example? ☺️
Hello! I’m so glad you’ve found my channel too! Thank you so much for being here - and welcome! Yes I would absolutely cleanse and reuse the decorations. And everything inside the bottle can be returned to the earth - that’s why I don’t allow anything synthetic into the bottle itself. If you make your own bottles, you don’t need to decorate them if you don’t want to but I like mine to look a bit special, especially if someone is treating themselves to one, and I also think that the focus and attention needed on the decorations gives the spell a bit more energy. I hope that makes sense! 🥰

I've just been reading about spell bottles, would you recommend them as gifts to friends?
I often give them as gifts and they are usually very well received. I would usually give spells for joyfulness and peacefulness, rather than anything deeply personal if I was the least bit unsure if the intended recipient would find the gift appropriate x

Oh my goodness I have had it for years - there used to be a beautiful shop in the UK called Past Times that sold all kinds of lovely historically themed gifts and bought it from there. You can find them online easily though, I’ve bought most of my collection of seals from eBay ☺️
