It was really good but the entire time I kept thinking about how this isn't how small town's work 😫😫😫😫.
I like how with this story you really don’t know as the reader whether or not the dude actually did drink water from the fountain of youth or if he really was just drugged

I naturally experience the effects of the "fountain of youth" in this story from time to time, only medical professionals usually call it "bipolar type 1"

This really reminded me of that "circus of wonder" scene from The Last Unicorn just in reverse.
yeah I almost commented "this is a The Last Unicorn creepypasta", but was worried no one would know what that was anymore

@@lavenderotaku2481 The thing is the water isn't being cruel, its just revealing what's truly there, both the magnificent and the terrifying truth that underlies reality.
I loved the dark magical feel of this story. I would have totally knocked the circus dude out and set free all of the animals and little monsters though.

This story makes me pleased that I've achieved a happy medium of childlike wonder and grownup logic. I'm not too scared of the dark anymore, but I can still get distracted by a pretty flower or a bee.
also that stargazing scene? you can get that shit IRL. head out to the middle of nowhere, as far from big cities as you can get. It's breathtaking.
@@XerxesTexasToast I unfortunately still have that gnawing fear of the dark, knowing in the back of my head that there's truly things out there that would Love to have a taste... But yes, the world really is very grand and beautiful when you stop just to take it in.
This story is sorta accurate to a high shroom dose. It’s not gonna be night and day (seeing a stuffed animal come to life) but the world will be filled with wonder again and normal things with seem amazing.
I remember going outside and looking at the street lights and thinking it was Christmas Day because they shined like lights on a tree.
In safe environment with people you trust and an appropriate dose you could enter into a small bizarre of your own on psilocybin.
This guy was the first creepy pasta voice I ever heard. It was 2am had my phone playing thru the truck radio and I hunt government mistakes came on. I was gonna put music back on in a couple seconds by the time I got to it I was turning it up and hooked that was 2018. 🙌

I'm still definitely a kid at heart, even cheap poorly made "magical" creatures would still get my brain whirring. I guess i still never gave up on the hope of seeing the impossible or being whisked away to an adventure somewhere similar but entirely different. In the end it's up to you to make your own magic and hope others will meet it with the same hope.Make the world you wanna live in, i suppose

Like, I went to one “house of bizzares” in my life, and it was complete BS from what I remember. Just a dimly lit little trailer filled with cheap mimicks of magical creatures in vials and pickling jars.
And yet.. Even at 18.. I’m a massive child at heart. A story like this.. filled with “unicorns” and “Griffins” and “Gnomes”
It always makes me wonder if any of those poor creatures are.. or were.. actually real. Yes, I admit I’d be scared. But also.. entirely mistified. I fully believe in the existence of magic and mythical creatures. Makes me wonder.
Was Mommy Fortuna really saving people from seeing the magic creatures they thought wanted to see? Her “Midnight Carnival” always gets me.

This story is honestly wonderful. I love it. It's fascinating!!! And as always the narration is spot on.
My only gripe is a common one that I see constantly: the misuse of the word "weary." It's beginning to get really old. I swear at some point, "weary" is gonna start having the same definition as "wary" in the dictionary. So sick of seeing them be used interchangeably! (If I heard incorrectly, please forgive me and ignore the comment lol)
