    Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting..
A really cool 1959 Kay Sizzler Model 4140 Guitar with original soft shell case…
These guitars were only made from1956 thru 1960…The Black and white ones were only made from1958 thru 1960…No dates on this one, I am calling it a 1959..
Awesome dark sounding Kay Pancake Case Pickup that is screaming for Blues to be played thru it. Very powerful for its time. Some of these pickups can get thin. This one is certainly not one of those. I was shocked when I plugged it in..
All original with a Pro Setup. New 10 gauge strings and this guitar is ready to go. Set neck and again, all original! Even the Kay Logo is still with this one. Its paper so they are always missing…Very nice Kluson Single Line Tuners, one tuner is slightly bent..see pics....this guitar is sick its so cool!
These guitars came in Brown and white Plextone Finish or Black and White Plextone. Really cool Gray color on this one from some fading and the black and white combined…Cool finish..Won’t show fingerprints..LOL
Heres some info I found on the internet regarding these cool Kay guitars.
The Kay Musical Instrument Company really hit its stride in the late 1950s and early 1960s with the electric guitar’s surge in popularity. Kay was offering original designs with budget friendly prices that allowed the masses to enjoy this new style of music. Kay models such as the Thin Twin and the Barney Kessell Signature guitar have become desirable vintage collectibles with unique styling and tone. The Sizzler was a solid body electric guitar offered by Kay in the late 1950s that featured a hot pickup, set neck and killer late 50s aesthetics.
This guitar is Pro Setup and plays great. The original brass frets still have plenty of life in them and we have this guitars setup with awesome playing low action…No sore fingers with this one….Sounds wonderful with the Kay Pancake Case Pickup. Original Pickguard, knobs, pots, tuners …everything…
The case is as nice as the guitar. Original and a great home for your cool Sizzler!
This guitar is Uber cool but vintage and old so its sold as is no returns. However …I have been hand picking my customers instruments for over 18 years now and they all loved the guitars I found for them. This cool Kay is certainly not going to be an except to that.
Thanks for checking out our cool guitars.

I do love some of the design cosmetics. The pickguard and the cutaway. I know all the Kays well as a designer myself I borrow bits from Kay because they have not been done to death. The second generation 60's Kay K102 Vangard headstock is dead cool. Slightly oversized but that can be modified. The Vanguard body shape is excellent...the lower bout has to be pulled back to get at the high notes but
otherwise the whole guitar body and headstock could be moved into the present on a new guitar with
    modern hardware and PU's.
