    Great video! While I am new to junk journaling, I, like you, am self taught with photoshop. I have been learning photoshop (still am) and creating “textures” for 3D models for years. Creating textures is a similar process to creating digital backgrounds for junk journals. It usually is a long process and a lot of work to create the final product. I am glad you created this so others can appreciate the process and are aware creating background papers is as not as simple as you might think.

    WOW! That is so impressive! I did not grow up with digital anything in the 50's and 60's..so it has all been a challenge to learn, even using a cell phone, and computer, so I am blown away at all of this!! Glad you are doing all the hard work, and I see how time consuming it is!! Well Done!

    If you would want to learn, you can create macros to apply to similar pages. It applies a file of set editing/changes to an image. It would greatly reduce your time when you are editing a series of pages with similar adjustments. I too am self-taught. I love using my Affinity Suite of image editing software and I plan to learn to use macros. It's a must because I do SO much creatively, as I'm sure you understand. Affinity Designer, Publisher and Photo rival Photoshop but are one-off purchases without a monthly subscription payment. I am not an affiliate pushing to get any commission. I just love Serif's Affinity. Thanks for sharing your technique. I love it! 💛

    • @ArtsyLadyCrafter
      @ArtsyLadyCrafter Před 4 měsíci

      The main process for creating a macro file is to remember to set it to record before you start making your changes and adjustments on an image. Once you're finished, you stop the macro recording, name the macro and save it in Macros. Then you can go to it, click and apply it to any image. It will instantly set, in your current open image, every step that you did in that original image. Then you can go on and make additional adjustments to that image if you want. I think macros can contain as many steps as needed. Sounds like heaven, doesn't it? 😄 I think it's a very under-used feature of graphics programs.

    I taught myself Photoshop, Photography, Photo Editing, a little bit of Web Design etc., and had so much fun with it! Whether it was for my old job at an Antique Auction Company, or with my own personal projects. It's been years since I've done these things but boy do I miss it. What you do is seriously a whole other level of AMAZING. Just the scanning then editing and color correcting in Photoshop is SO time consuming and tedious on its own. To then add in all the work it takes in the uploading process on Etsy is just mind blowing and I don't know if people realize how much work it all really is!! Not to mention if the process of making your own mixed media junk journal creations, and then doing all these steps. It all truly is a work of art and beauty within itself. Your hard work and dedication is SO incredibly inspiring to me, and I can't thank you enough for having this CZcams channel and sharing all of your amazing-ness with us!! Much love as always 💞💞💞💞

    Just an idea for scanning 3D stuff like ready journals: what if you would not close the lid of the scanner at all, but used a thick, dark cloth (ie. black, thick felt or a blanket that does not let any light through) to cover the project you're scanning.. that way you would be able to set some heavy books or something else to weigh down the pages to be pressed more tightly to the scanner glass and perhaps have better scanned results. This idea just popped to my thoughts watching your video here, so it's not tested by me, but I really think it might work. Please let me know how it goes, if you try it, ok?
