Do 4.10s in the 6l80 feel to low or does it feel not that differently compared to the 3.73s?
Thanks for the video, im going to install 4:10s on my 06 silverado 5.3, im close by here in Beaumont Tx
Your welcome boss. And I recommend 4.10s for all 4 door 5.3 trucks
Bad ass truck men showing love from Dallas tx so I have a 93 GMC Yukon, and a 3 inch lift with 22 x 14 wheels trying to decide what gears to go with it’s a daily, if you can help me out
I use buy 96 Silverado 5.7 tuniada with heaters 3 in pipe what you recommend???
Thanks bro I'm looking at 3:55 from what I can tell keep my eyes on that gas 👀🌶️

Bro, what gears do I need for my 1985 ford f150 with a 351 Windsor 5.8 and 3spd automatic c-6? It is 4wd. I've got a brawler quick fuel 4bbl blow through carb, aluminum stealth intake, headers and a accel super coil on a HEI distributor. I've got a B&M pro stick floor shifter. I'm doing around 3500 rpms at 65mph....need good low end burnouts and a low rpm cruise ....
I'd do a 3.08 sounds like you have like a 4.30 in it or so. With a 3.08 you'd be running around 94 mph at the same 3500 rpm instead of 65 mph. And 2400-2500 rpm at 65 mph with a 3.08. it really depends on what rpm your engine makes it torque and tire height makes a difference.
I went from 3.07 to 3.73 in a Corvette, what a difference and what the hell you need a top speed of 193 for?
What do you recommend I have a 09 5.3 with headers, cai, and 3in pipe with muffler ? I am stuck between 3.73 or 4.10s it’s my daily
If it’s a crewcab 4.10s but if it’s a single cab 3.73s
Do you need to make changes to the computer or is everything cool
Wayne from calif, thank you
Yes you need a retune after the gears because the shifting points changed
Hey bro what gear ratio do you think would be best for a turbo setup on my 08 Silverado with a 6l90
Sorry for the late reply. Honestly I’d keep stock gears. 3.42 that turbo is gonna compensate for EVERYTHING
I went 3.90... only because I have a 3200 stall and don't need 4.10's to get going. My truck also puts 470 to the wheels so that helps alot. Highway driving with to much gear sucks
Hell yeah bad ass truck brother
Thank you sir!
4:10 for the win!!
Saludos desde Monterrey hermano buen video!!!! 👌🏽
How's it going.. I got a 1985 c10 chevy with long tube headers .. super 10 Flowmaster.. Is it good to put 373 gear on it
Yes bro those would be a good match!!!! Sorry for the late reply!
Damn bro that was some good shit.
I have GMC Sierra 1500 SLT 2017 with 32.12.50x20 -I gear is stock, what gear ratio do you recommend, I want to save gas !!! Saludos bay area california
What’s up bro honestly I would just recommend 4.10 gears. I don’t think it’ll make you save money on gas but you’ll definitely feel a difference in driving conditions. Saludos De Houston!
I have a 1996 ford f 150 5.0 what would you recommend I mainly like doing rolls
I recommend 3.73s as they are better overall!
Do
You have stock stall?
What’s up bro I’ve been looking for a video just like this and I was wondering if you could help me out on trying to pick a better gear ratio on my 93 obs it has a 454 and a 4l80 transmission I kept the stock gears because sometimes I drive it far but also I would like to upgrade gears what would be my best option?
Whats up bro what are the stock gears on those? If it’s a daily or truck you drive far distances. I wouldn’t recommend going over 3.73s. My brother has a 6.0 with a 4l80 (it’s a purple obs on one of my videos) and he had 3.73s and he just swapped over to 4.11s and it was to much for the 4 gears. I’d recommend 4.10s if it was only a truck for the race track. If you find this helpful make sure to subscribe!
@@arevalosgarage1275 I’m not really sure what are the stock gear I’ll ask my brother but I do drive it frequently and at times far distances and I can’t really keep upgrading my engine a lot just cuz it’s a tbi engine that can’t be tuned so some gears would definitely help out to put some power down
@@ManuelReyes-dw8ym yea man I definitely recommend 3.73s if your looking to put power down from digs and also have good drive ability
@@arevalosgarage1275 thanks my boi I appreciate it 👍🏽🙏🏽
What you think will be better on 15’s? 4.10 or 3.73 on a 5.7 vortec
3.73s would be idle for those since most likely you have a 4speed transmission!
Wassup bro I got a 2010 Chevy 5.3 with a 6l80 , what gears would you recommend?
If you do alot of Highway driving keep the stock gears. But if you like racing upgrade to 4.10s. Sorry for the late reply
I got a 4.8 06 extended cab what gears u recommend ? When I step on it my right tire spins out and doesn’t take off like I want it
it’s because you have a limited slip differential
if it spins out on your stock gears. id recommend get wider or stickier tires. back when i had my stock gears it ran good of the line
You need a locker, with a 4.8 I’d go 4.10
Where do i buy the gears for a 2005 cadillac escalade 5.3l??

Saludos desde Venezuela mi pregunta es cuán le funcionó mejor a usted y con que llantas
Greetings from Venezuela my question is how best it works and how high the wheels are

What do u recommend on a ctsv 5.7 with a lsa blower 4.10 or 3.73
Manual 1st gen
So I guess imma go with 4.10 for max torque think about it like this when you race another truck you only doing a pull or 2 your not gonna be racing for 2 miles 3.73 are better in the long run 🤷🏼♀️ if I understand this video right
I agree too. Base on this video.
When you want from 342 to 373 did you any differentnt gas mileage
I'd like to know this too
Did you change your front differential gears too?
No mine is only a 2wd
@@arevalosgarage1275you get traction from a dig in 2wd with all that?
Thinking 3.73 For my 6.2 10 Speed cause these 3.23 are not cutting it , I would like to put some 4.10 but I think ima lose some top end
I’ve been hearing that it’s better to have low gears for the 10speeds. Im not sure if that’s true but look into it. Look at the Ford forums. They’ve been having the 10speeds a little longer. 3.42s might be a little more ideal
I see you everywhere wtf 😂
Yo bro I got 3.23 on 4.8 4l65 should I swap to 4.10? Or 3.73 it’s getting cammed and has 2500 stall if that matters
What are your goals for the truck? More dig races or rolls?
My brother recently upgraded his cammed 6.0 with a 4l80 and a stall to 4.10. And it’s horrible on the highway. He should’ve just stayed with 3.73s. If it’s a daily I recommend 3.73s if it’s gonna be a track truck 4.10s
@@arevalosgarage1275 3.73 it is thanks bro
3.96 just the go to low enough for quick launches and high enough for rolls
Just for everyone out there do your research if your truck or any car is a daily too high of a gear ratio will fuck up your mpg if you don't care then go for it and you're not adding power you're just choosing how to put that power to the ground. You're just choosing between good launch/acceleration and low top speed or higher top speed and not so good launch/acceleration
Yes that is true when I had 3.42 I was getting 16 on 93. And with these I get around 12 to 14 depending. But the guy gets 10 mpg on 4.10s
With the 3.73… what is your RPM at 65MPH? Trying to decide on what to get based on what RPM is at during highway driving.
2300-2500
@@arevalosgarage1275 Thank you!!!
@@arevalosgarage1275 no way
My daily 05 GMC 4wd has 4.10s and a Lm7 5.3, my 07 silverado 2wd on E85 stock except for a posi unit has 3.26 gears, and my 6000lb GMC will smoke it out of the hole. I'd recommend 4.30s for your daily cuz I drive 4.10s daily and my tach is at 2100 at 65 MPH. My Chev is getting 4.55s. And 4.10s ain't shit unless its a 4 speed muscle car or 3 speed auto. With overdrive 4.30s will be perfect.
I just did my motor swap a few months ago. I’m a 6.2 now. And I think 3.73s are idle for my set up rn
@@arevalosgarage1275 Thats cool, nothing wrong with 3.73s. I've driven everything from 2.73s to 4.56s and it just depends on what you want to achieve and more importantly if its your daily it has to be reasonable, my GMC with 4.10s is decent because I tow with it and its my daily, but my 07 Silverado is just gonna be a tire smoker to drive on sunny days with 4.30s or 4.56s
What do you recommend for a 03 Yukon with intake and tune soon I’ll add headers and cam
@@elcuhhalex8675 If all you have is a intake and tune, bro CAM THAT SHIT!! You kinda did it backwards but fret not my man, throw a Truck Norris cam in that shit and make that intake start paying for itself. A intake by itself will do almost nothing, but with a cam it will prove its weight in gold. 👍🇺🇲
@@elcuhhalex8675 I learned a lot since my original post a year ago. I learned that for a LS "The big 3" is the best place to start for HP naturally aspirated. The big 3 are heads, cam and intake. Im going to port my 706 heads, put on a LSXR intake and a Truck Norris cam. For starters.
Thats not necessarily true. 4.10 gears help on the launch, it enables your truck to get into the rpm where you make power sooner. But it also gets you into 2nd gear "higher gear" sooner. So once you are in 2nd the 3.42 is still in first. There are other factors as well, a shorter tire changes your effective ratio and different transmissions have different ratios. It isn't as simple as lower rear gears make you faster. The quickest and fastest F150 naturally aspirated 5.0 Coyote guys run 3.31s and shorter than stock tires. Boss Awesome Regular Cab F150 ran 11.7s, naturally aspirated with 3.31 gears before he put a supercharger on it. Louis Marquez Supercrew 5.0 runs 11.9, naturally aspirated. No low gears. My 2016 Screw port injected 5.0 6 speed tune only ran a 13.7, launching in 2wd on a horrific 60ft, 2.23. In 4wd and a 2.0, that would be low 13. 3.55 gears on 20s. I had a tuned full bolt on 2.7 Ecoboost 6 speed Screw that ran 12.46 in the quarter mile with 3.55. I tried 3.91s, it was slower.
What gears do you recommend
4.10 honestly. I regret not getting them

Them 4:10 is fast
Obviously you are new to this. There is no replacement for displacement except power adders. If you have enough power you can overcome a gear deficit and when you do there will be even more to pass you
Your right. But by the time you add all these power adders to overcome that gear you’ve already wasted way more unnecessary money. I raced the guy with the 4.10 gears not so long ago and I’m finally toe to toe with him. Keep it mind. He’s just 4.10 gears and a 5.3 with headers. I’m fbo and barely keeping up with him
Watch your spare key hmie
