  • I seen a few USO personnel going to a gate at Las Vegas Airport. I followed and this was the outcome. A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS for this family. Just wanted to share this with all of you. Hope you enjoy it.

@rockit730 I do not agree with you on your Statement, but you are entitled to say what you want, that is what they are fighting for, your freedom to think and say what you want.

    • @2000ViperGTSsubscribe
      @2000ViperGTSsubscribe Před 3 lety +3

@rockit730 You epitomize ignorance. I am a DAV benefits officer and a veteran with PTSD. I'm also a Wharton School graduate that owns a tech company, but like many veterans, we suffer everyday. While I have done well in life, some cannot cope as well, they saw things that few might be able to understand. Sure some use a fake PTSD excuse, but there are some with serious issues attributed to serving our country. Most veterans do not get any benefits other than a VA loan which most do not use and a $200 towards a flag when they die. Most veterans that have PTSD do not even say they ave PTSD, they hide it, again your post is ignorant on many levels. I concur with My Philippine Adventures, you are entitled to say what you want and I too fought for that right for you. After traveling to 20 countries in my life, it is the only place where you have the highest freedoms out there. Even the Philippines and I have been to Luzon, Mindanao, Cebu they just let their borders open to let their pwn people out, but here in America we never got our borders locked down, nor does your speech.

Got out of the service 1964 in the heat of it all. As others had said it was if we had lepoersy or worse. Took a bus home with stares of disgust. Once off the bus I walked the 2 miles to my house. On the way there was a large field to travel through. Couldn't believe my eyes as I gazed ahead. There was my dog standing at top of the hill. Tail wagging but unsure if it was really me. She"d never seen me in my unis. Took my hat off an called to her. Best greeting I ever got. Bonds cant be broken.

Retired back in 2006. Flew home from Japan... No one was there to get me from the airport. They said that the roads would be packed during Thanksgiving. As I took the train home (about an hour from JFK) I looked out the window and gazed at an empty parkway. They just didn't want to be bothered picking me up....

Sorry sir for your bad treatment returning home, but many of us do not disrespect any American in uniform. Thank you for your service and a virtual shake of your hand sir. Welcome home, a little late but truly deserved.

It is great to see the military welcomed back home, but is very hard for me as I was in Vietnam from 1966 to 1970 I was a marine fighter pilot and was captured. I was in country 4 years .when I came home my welcome home was cups of urine and red paint thrown on us and called baby killers.
49 years later it still hurts.
It is good these military are welcomed back.

Leonard Englehart, Whether for or against the war, there was absolutely no excuse for the treatment our military was subjected to when they returned home. I'm sorry you had to go through all that you did and I hope you know everyone didn't feel that way. I hope life has been good to you.

I thank you for your kind words.
Most people were against all of the branches of military from Vietnam.
When I first got out I went to college but quit after a month being shamed.
I did go years later and now have a PHD.in avation.
I wake up every day and am thankful to be here in one piece .
I'm one proud US. Marine and even prouder to be in this great American.
      Thankyou for your kind reply.

You cannot get to the gate area to welcome anyone any more unless you have a boarding pass and photo ID to pass through TSA screening. They must have made very special arrangements to do this. Then again, it is Las Vegas...

I knew it, whoever was working the camera kept going to the family and he missed the soldier coming through the door.
