Jab maine review video banana shuru kiya to battery ke 2 bar the. Aur bina jyada chalaye review ke beech mein hi ye ud gaye aur mujhe dusari battery lagani padi. Aap battery indicator ko dhyan se dekhein.
Sir charge fully and test run time for FM vs MW, SW etc. This radio seems to be power hungry. Especially, it would be interesting to see run time of FM on full charge.
Yes, while watching the video, I saw the battery level indicator at the very first instant. 🙂

This radio is known as a battery guzzler, giving 14 to 17 hours playtime as reviewed by some reviewers. My old XHDATA D808 which I am using over 4 years is also a battery guzzler. However they have rectified the problem in the newer version which i purchased recently.

IMO, this is an EXCELLENT review. You have undoubtedly put in lot of hard work in studding the Pros-n-Cons as well as the capabilities and limitations of this much talked about DX-286 radio. You have spelled out the various features of the DX-286 in a very systematic, logical, to the point and easy to understand manner. This review also speaks volumes about your in-depth knowledge and understanding of the various terminology/aspects of a Radio. You are a boon for WE the Bhartiya radio lovers and enthusiasts. IMO, the DX-286 is an ideal radio for the DXers.

P.S. This radio, along with the Frequency also shows the Meter-Band (there are few other modern radios that has this feature), which is good for we veteran radio lovers. In our good old golden days (50's & 60's) we only referred to Meter-Band and not frequency. We had tube (valve) based radios with only AM (MW & SW). They used the End Feed Random wire antenna for pulling-in stations.

MP3 etc are kids things, a Radio should be a Radio, has been my view since beginning.

Bahut sateek review. Kisi function eccentric device ke itne saare functions ek video me samahit karna wah bhi YT video ke roope mei, yah kitna muskil aur challenging hota hai yah samajha ja sakta hai.
Kisi device ke liye jab ek trend set ho jata hai to usko todna bada mushkil aur jokhim bhara kaam hota hai. Naye device ke sath aisa prayah hota hai. Iski full band to band review ka intejar rahega.

Waiting for the multi band comparison video with D808 from your place. Being closer to Delhi and in Delhi most of the time, the FM and MW comparison is often misleading as both perform similarly in a metro city. From your area, the face off with few weaker signal reception will be the real battle. As mentioned in the intial comments when I just got my hands on this radio, I refrained from talking about SW band comparison. But now after extensive use, somehow I feel D808, in certain meter bands from the same place and weather conditions, performs better than DX-286. Overall, both are masterpieces in the world of portable radios.
The stock XHDATA 2k battery gets drained out much faster in this radio. Please use 5k/6k mAh for longer backup. I use a pair of them. While one is in use the other gets charged in a dedicated charger for continuous backup. Also, charging the battery with micro-USB and playing the radio simultaneously cause a lots of DC noise in reception and speaker output sometimes.
Again, as I said earlier to Karunakar ji in a comment, and still I firmly believe you are the one who can do a proper justice in exploring the functionalites of this radio pitted against D808.❤ Glad that you got your unit sooner, so that I can also learn many things from you about how to use this radio.
Also, please try to find the maths used behind the calculation of signal dBu and dB (SNR) level in both D808 and DX-286. For the latter, it always shows much higher values. Couldn't understand which calculation algorithm they used and how it differs from XHDATA/Tecsun logic.

I will certainly make videos on all the things asked. I have a feeling it exaggerates those readings.
@@pravindersheoran My assumption is regarding the objective signal values-- as dB is a logarithmic scale the reference value chosen by them (Qodosen) for the denominator part is much lesser (exponentialpower -5 or -6 generally for RF signals std.) than the usal standard. So that the output result is almost 4 times higher (in dB scale itself). Yet with log base 10 the math doesn't find a proper correlation between those two radios. Something is really fishy here. And surprisingly no prominent international reviewers talked about this discrepancy.
Moreover, I think dBu was first used by Tecsun in the radio world. Many people till date don't understand what exactly those two values purport (which parameters) to measure the strength of radio signal. If possible, please make a educational video with various RF signal measurement systems and decoding them for all viewers of your channel.

Bahut accha laga aapka review dekh ke. Mujhe toh lagta hai, jaise yeh power bhukkad TEF chip jaisa hai, iske sath 2 ya zyada battery ka pravadhan hona chahiye. yeh aise battery powered devices ke liye bana hi nahi hai, kyunki yeh car audio system ke liye banaya gaya the originally.
Mera 9700dx 4 AA battery ke sath 4.5 months ke baad bhi chal raha hai, light usage ke sath.

What even surprised me more were the set of cons apart from 286's pros and long list of sported features which were duly covered from India's perspective which gives a lucid idea of level of performance one can expect being residing in a tropical country.
I have come across many renowned CZcamsrs who extensively adulated this Radio but no one covered the series of cons one may face from it.
I sincerely thank you for your kind mention regarding Philip's Trishul. It's still going strong and my go to Radio these days for Akashvani's Evening News bulletin followed by Spotlight.

वैसे तो काफी अच्छा लगा लेकिन इसका fine टयूनिंग button सीरफ एक महिने में हीं खराब हो गया. अब तीन चार महिने बाद इसका वोलुम् भी आवाज करने लगा है.

सरजी मैने पहला radio pagaria r917 लिया था functions के चलते तब मुझे इतना कुच पता नहीं था पर radio मे intrest था लेकीन उसको लेणे के बाद पता चला की मे एक भटकती आत्मा टाईप का listner हु 😂
अब मेरा थोड़ा बजट हैं लगभग ४००० तो इस रेंज में भटकती आत्माओं के लिए रेडियो बताए
खासकर मैं Shihuadon R108 के बारेमे सोच रहा था या फिर XHdata D-109 आप थोड़ा मार्ग बताए

अभी तो मैं Philips AZ5740/ 98 और AZ1852/98 boom box 5 इन वन के पीछे पड़ा हु । क्योंकि एक ही सिस्टम में रेडियो कैसेट प्लेयर डीवीडी आदि सभी की ❤खुबिया❤है ।इसे ही खरीदने की चाह में हु । क्योंकि अब तकनीक इतनी आगे बढ़ गई है की रेडियो और कैसेट प्लेयर एक साथ मिलने असंभव हो जायेंगे😢।
