might be strange but I just love that style of key they had for the 10th gen corollas and other models.
This was a nice style key! I like them a lot since the remote and key are all 1! No need for extra fobs!
Nice video,i have question, where u cut the keys?.
It was as a small mom and pop lock smith. No other places will cut these keys!
I got a replacement remote for my 04 at autozone for like $20. I had to do the manual way :(
Took me like 20 tries, but I did get it done.
Thankfully my current keys are not "chipped", though everyone seems to not be willing to make more of them outside of a legit locksmith (got mine cut at Bi-mart for free).
My 2011 GMC Sierra has "chipped" keys, but they took 15 seconds to do 2 keys with no tool/dongle. You need a dumb obd2 dongle like you needed for your keys, to add a remote to a 2011 GMC Sierra :( . I'm lookin at $90 for a single remote and the obd2 thing, but I'll only have to spend that once.
Thank you for the video and link though! If I ever do swap up to a newer corolla, I'll snag that cheappy dongle :D
Having keys without the chip makes everything much easier! Nowadays on most new cars you need many fancy scan tools in order to program a key! Luckily this corolla is fairly simple with the dumb dongle!
i have an oem key and my signal range is so short i actually have to be in front of the car for it to register.. was thinking about programing another key but i dont know if itll make a difference
These keys have a decent distance, but still need to have a good straight sight of the car for it to unlock from a decent distance.
I wonder if a key that can be used on my 04 & 07 Toyota Matrix?
I believe Toms keys sells them for the Matrix as well! And they should program very similar to this Corolla.
Can auto corolla hold being turbo change?
Yes it can, I have seen them go over 200whp, but the transmission will start to slip under hard accelerations!
Is it possible to switch a 2010 Corolla key fob to a Camry flip key fob ?
Yes you should be able to do this. Just need to make sure it has the same key frequency, with either a dot or a letter that matches your current key.
@@BrandonStellmach even if my key button layout is different? I have the stock key fob but the one I want is a flip key but the buttons are going down in a straight line.
@@TheLegoWorldShowyeah even if the buttons are not in the same pattern it will still work. The biggest thing to make sure it has the same frequency as the Corolla.
nice what were the other two buttons?
As mentioned in the other comment, it is the trunk release and panic button.
bro are you slow?
It depends on what it is, Some times I’m fast at somethings and slower at others!
Very nice! Those look exactly like my OEM keys so I think you did great for under $100!
Totally agree. Just 1 key alone from the dealer is about $200. And other locksmiths are about 150-180$ for 1 key.
@@BrandonStellmach That's nuts. This is a good find and I'm sure there are other 10th Gen owners that will find this a huge benefit!
