Glad you enjoyed your stay in the shoals area, foy. It's a wonderful place to live!
this is my no# 1 bucket list place to visit !! I hope to get there and go down to the river ~ thank you for sharing your experience, it's just what I imagined it would be ! RIP Rick Hall !
There's nothing here, don't waste ur time. It looks lokr a ghetto and Noone plays music here anymore. It's as lifeless as the rest of the world
I'm from MS I've lived here all my life! It's a cute town to come in and stay for a weekend or so but don't stay to long or yall will get bored 😂 come visit!!
@@elizabethb6913 peaceful places, which I am hoping to find, will be worth every boring moment !! :) There is something about the feel of this area that brings these musicians there,, When they can afford to go anywhere in the world, I wonder what they found or feel ~ thx !!
Wonder why Sheffield never gets mentioned? The Iconic Muscle Shoals Sound was in Sheffield, Alabama, and still is.
I live in the Shoals and it is a beautiful place to live
My hometown

Town has a really bad housing problem, barely any jobs and there's a serious lack of things to do that don't involve drinking. That said, the city is very tolerant and I love how accepting it is.
I'll drink to that...
I reccomend WildWoods. Best Bar in town
Talks about Muscle Shoals, but shows him sitting around in Florence... confused much???
The Shoals is kind of used as a catchall for all four nearby cities: Florence, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, and Tuscumbia. I always have to explain to visitors why Muscle Shoals Sound is technically in Sheffield and FAME (an acronym for Florence Alabama Music Enterprises) is in Muscle Shoals.
That said, most of the live music nowadays is performed in Florence, so it only seems fitting he'd spend a good amount of time there.
And Sheffield.
'ius nothing like the video here
Love here for a month, there's nothing inspiring. This fufr5
Idy have read the brochure and decided to bidit6s day or two. If musicians care bout it so much why don't they live here and play music. Music is dead here like it is every where and it's sad. I thought it was cause the towns look so embarrassing and torn up. Someone should fix it up. If u get off the main highway thst the businesses are u wool see and feel something.. Like ur teeth getting vibrated out from the shitty roads
If English is your second language, I'll give you a pass for that word salad. That said, I've lived here all my life, and the music scene is as vibrant as it has ever been. The venues in downtown Florence are hopping every night of the week. The Shoals area's Single Lock Records--the label founded by Grammy-winner and Civil Wars alum John Paul White--is making by far the best music being released today, with the exception perhaps of Jason Isbell, who is from just down the road and who cut his teeth on the music scene here. (And, contrary to your other claim, White lives right here in Florence. The only reason he isn't here more often is that he's too busy touring the country or--currently--Europe.) Hell, just two weeks ago Billy Reid's Shindig had two nights of free music in Wilson Park as well as back-to-back concerts at Shoals Theater.
Tl;dr: Don't listen to this moron. If you like music, skip Nashville and Memphis and come see us.
