Nice job Capt.! Far cleaner job than the last one you did on the brakes. I use to change my brakes myself but now it's too hard for me to get down low and work on them. 66 years old with arthritis. Thanks Capt.!

I would guess that some if not all of the particles came from the inside of the drain hose which is always open to the atmosphere.
Very positively because you are right a lot of dirt could get inside

What model year is that Sprinter?
This printer is a 2017 3.0L
Do you know what ECU model your Sprinter, Bosch or Delphi has? I have a Viano with Delphi CR.2 and I can't read a lot of engine information with a scanner. I'm looking for a scanner to be able to do it. Icarsoft doesn't and neither does Torque.

Just turn valve, turn 🔑 on…
Get about 1-3 ounces water out….

What happens if I don't clean up I never clean up that water😮
you will fell the engine not working properly and starts jerking , it has happened to me in the past and that's how you know you have to emptied
