I am not shocked by the response of some, but I always say if you’re a leader and you haven’t learned to lead beyond your pain you shouldn’t be a leader. Dealing with the deep damage is certainly a tall task. The nerve of folks talking about what they don’t believe and they haven’t contributed nothing to their community, city, or state. Bring your words to the table, I’ll bring my work!
“Leading beyond your pain”… that’s real. You can only be motivated by negative energy for so long.
Everyone aint gonna agree with you, especially saying we have "victim mindset" which is the same thing our enemies say when it is far from the truth. Come with logic, and not trying to manipulate my emotions. I'm from NYC, hoteps played that game all day until we just laughed at them, and no one took them serious, cause they didn't do anything but talk down on us yet they couldn't improve our lives BUT the hustlers did. Why you think things changed in the 1990's from "Black power of the 1980's to the gangsters in the 1990's? I used to wear my African medallions until I met actual Africans, then I woke up!
I study Black American history, and we fought the whole way, nothing victim about it. The only people who I hear say that are people who just love Africa/Pan-Africanism and hate America culture especially Black American culture, and look at Africa as some fake utopia or racists people who just want to find a way to make themselves look better then us UNTIL you do the actual research. Then you have just cuuns like "Thomas Sowell" who sound smart, but dumb as all get out!

I don't agree with Dre is on this, and his actions with the police haven't stopped anything. The truth of the matter the police speak the language of violence. No amount of talking and sitting down with them will make them respect you because you are not speaking their language. There wasn't anything proposed in this conversation that hasn't been tried over 100 years. And this is part of our problem, we know all the ways to pimp to and behave within the identities ascribed to us, but when it comes to strategizing on how to break free from subjugation, our thinking is limited. SMH.

One has to build on victories, work the victories, strategies from the point of the victory. I changed the law that made it even possible to hold police accountable in Washington state, when that wasn’t even possible for over 35 years, I won my brother’s wrongful death lawsuit against law enforcement, I’ve given attorneys the means to fight without their hands behind their back. “Where there is no vision the people perish!”

Lack of accountability is what fucks my community up. Life is what you make of it regardless of the paradigm if we unite and utilize each others resources we'd thrive in a few generations.
And by resources im not speaking solely money.. knowledge, networks, platforms,jobs, morality, mentalities ect.
Great response to an age old issue. Life is and is not what you make of it. We have to have an all in attitude. We have to be willing to die for this life we deserve. I don't completely agree. What he was saying is that we should organise which blacks have done in the past. All those ethnicity he called out have been victims but not at the same rate and aggressiveness that blacks have. We need to build power internally first and gain respect on a wider spectrum then it would make sense. You can't Garner respect from others if they see you don't respect your fellow man of the same hue as you.

Thank you for this insight. To many outsiders do not understand our plight and even a fmany of us. We have been attacked all over the planet. It is no coincidence either. White supremacy is no joke. They conspire to keep their foot on the neck of melanated peoples all over the planet. They institue policies that keep this going.
