Think about this woman, what would it take for an “unclean”woman in first century Judea to get anywhere near Jesus, much less touch the hem of his garment. After 12 years of bleeding, she would be very weak an anemic. She had a single focus, to reach, if only I could touch. So she reaches, straining to reach her goal. And she succeeds!!! “Seek the LORD while he may be found. Call on him now while he is near!” “If you seek him, you will find him when you search for him with all of your heart!” This unnamed woman risked so much just being in the crowd. But to reach through the crowd. As a short person, I know what it is to strain to reach. If it seems too hard, I give up and move on. Pain, Desperation, hope and determination drove this woman to persevere!
