In this free drum lesson, I want to teach you the main parts from the song “Stinkfist” by Tool featuring Danny Carey on drums.
Being known as the easiest of the Tool songs for us drummers to play, this song still packs a punch with complex tom grooves, super fast drum fills and plenty of that Danny Carey magic. This is a beast of a tune and so take your time and work through each section carefully before playing up to speed. Have fun!

I became a guitar player because my old best friend would tell me to get on the Bass or guitar & entrust me to jam along with much better musicians than I was back then. He is also an amazing Drummer. Hearing the way this channel's host explains these is almost exactly in the context of my old friend ( a trained musician). Now, I'm playing Drums and have fallen in love with another damned instrument. Great content here.

Amazing thank you. Nuances very well explained. So much detail it's hard to follow sometimes but it wouldn't be Danny without it!

      Hi Rob,
I like to ask you, what are the best methods to build up speed for 32nd notes in general, right now I can play 16th note in 110 bpm pretty clean, but if I play 32nd, my bpm is around 55-60, that's the max I can go, this song bpm is 85, that means I can't play few of those drum fills that has 32nd, please let me know, thanks.

Hey man thanks so much for your lessons, they have been really useful in times like these! Could you possibly teach us the full Digital Bath song by Deftones? I've been wanting to learn that song for a long time :)

off the bat Im jst a smidge confused. now, I see that your high hat is with right foot and kick the other. which seems to be an advantage being in between the toms, im sure ill manage but if theres anything aparent to you let me know.. Now, Ive got your standard 2 toms atop the bass with a large independent legged tom... let me know if there are any obstacles im going to face. or if not. Ive always wanted to upgrade for a more elaborate kit by adding toms n watnot. you have 2 toms on a stand to the right. im just looking at your highhat and wondering if any part of your kits setup is atall "personalized" because of this. that being perhaps so if there is an upgrade/setup more ideal for me... sry Im somewhat new to this, ive seen so many kit setups its a bit overwhelming. any direction that might help me on my setup confusion ive been having. if you can would be great bud ;p;p;p
