Man, this game was horrendously underrated. It was truly one of the best superhero games.
They really need to work on the sound design. None of the shots or blows feel satisfying, like they're very clearly not mixed well enough.
iron mans combat has the worst sound design, in fact the whole game feel is terrible in the iron man gameplay, and thors hammer sounds like a frying pan

I think I know what's missing. The attacks don't really have any real impact, it's way too slow paced, and the characters' personalities just aren't clicking.
If it looks slow paced for us the viewers it must be really boring to play it. And yeah, the attacks don't seem to have that feeling of actually hitting something.
Why do they all sound so calm and nonchalant with all this destruction and fighting going on? I really struggle to get into characters that act so removed from everything that's going on around them. None of the dialogue is even funny either.
And imo some sounds of their attacks are too soft
coupled that with the child friendly action gameplay. No blood, no bones breaking, no burning bodies whatsoever. It seems like they are hitting pillows especially Hulk. While watching, I can imagine playing Thor and Hulk but not feeling powerful.
They said they have the similar skill tree and like- a class for each heroes.

Cap and Hulk's gameplay looks to be the most satisfying. Black Widow's is hard to tell since it was just a boss fight. Thor moves too slow and Iron Man's movements, whenever he isn't on-rails, don't seem fluid enough. And I'm confused why Hawkeye is missing, especially when arrow gameplay could easily be a nice diversion to the hand-to-hand combat styles.
Even PS3 ironman fighting system was better
Hawkeye is missing because this isn’t the MCU but also because the directors said this game adds MULTIPLE characters throughout the story and with DLCs.

Spider-Man has a unique combat system crafted for him exclusively. Fast paced and acrobatic like him. Thor, Hulk and Iron Man can't do the same things

They are on the bridge! If you go to fast they might miss something. It's supposed to be real life-like. And Hulk was never really a fast runner. He can jump far! And you hear Steve saying' hurry up big guy. So it makes perfect sense.

For pre-alpha the gameplay is pretty dang impressive, creative, and diverse. I look forward to the visual and mechanical upgrades to make it look and feel even better. We're a long way from finished here, so don't rush it.

Zephyr Gaming funny I don’t recall Temple Run having a moment where you stop in place to fight a gaggle of enemies with combos.
For me it's more like the Tomb Raider vibes. Jumping and running through platforms with different color "sign" to perform each action (red floor to jump, walls with white strips to cling on, etc)
I guess that should be obvious since the maker of Tomb Raider series (Crystal Dynamics) was behind this

I see a lot of potential for this game; there's still plenty of time to improve it. I'd recommend improving the voice-overs for the characters as well as the gameplay. Please look at the Spider-Man PS4 game for inspiration.

I'm amazed that, in my lifetime, I've gotten to the point where a nigh photo-realistic video game of the somewhat obscure comic and cartoon characters that made me giddy as a kid, looks so so so SO incredibly dull. That shouldn't have been possible.

The developers spent more time working on Thor’s cape animation than the actual gameplay
i know its sarcastic but stuff like capes or cloth in general are made with phsyics. they put almost no efford into it at all. they definately dont animate it unless it needs really really specific animation like dr strange cape in the movies.

Yep. This video is pretty much just to introduce the characters. Combat system looks competent although a bit repetitive. As you said, we can't really judge the game until we get more information.

I know its not done yet, but the gameplay feels very choppy, and out of place. Graphics are okay. I was always protecting this game, but it just seems kinda average, hope it improves! Id rather wait lomger for a better game than a rushed game...
Well it is the prologue (turtorial) so I’m just expecting it to show off gameplay and visuals. it looks like a game I’ll be fine playing personally but I’m not particularly excited. It’s supposed to be a co-op game so I’m expecting some drastically different missions in the full product.
But overall this still looks somewhat decent, feel like an okay game, not great, not bad neither, just an okay game.

@Ex- Men I know what he means. Just saying it's natural to think so. Iron Man and Thor's action can be summed up with explosions and screaming. Black Widow's combat skills can make for more interesting action.

Captain America's gameplay looks very cool actually, but the Iron Man part looks like a mobile game, they have a lot to improve, but i'll buy it, love when games lose they're hype before release, always impress lol

In my humble opinion, tuskmaster from spider-man look better than this one...

He seems like an upgraded bridge thug in this. In Spider-Man, he felt like a threat. Taskmaster could be viewed and believed as a combatant skilled/dangerous enough to temporarily fight the Avengers. There is no comparison as of now.
Taskmaster in spiderman reminds me of azreal from arkham city
they make this taskmaster less intimidating. this version seems so.... weak... compared to the one in spider-man
You do know that this taskmaster is younger and probably just started his mercenary career and this hasn’t had as much experience and with taskmaster the more he learns the more lethal he becomes hence why he’s better in Spider-Man PS4
I think some of the biggest issues are with the sound. Those energy bullets don't make much of an impact sound so they come off as soft, same with Tony's repulsor blasts. Need a bit more OOMPH to them.
Thor also seems a tad sluggish, could be sped up more, and some of the dialogue, especially during Nat's fight with Taskmaster, is a touch... unnatural? Like I get wanting to have some exposition, but it felt unnatural there.
Other than that, it looks great, especially for pre-Alpha.

@@MovieEggman I believe it, there's ample evidence to support it, from Taskmaster's statement, to Spidey saying the Avengers were off in the east coast, to the special treatment of PlayStation owners in this game, so it makes sense to me

To be fair he was very easy in Spider-Man as well. Hopefully this is just one of many encounters, though. That character has great potential for increasingly difficult boss fights.

1. Why is his voice so different? It was perfect in the Spiderman game.
2. Why does he have a jetpack?
3. Does he have no alternate vision modes in his mask?
4. Taskmaster's supposed to be a really dangerous foe who can take on all the avengers at once, yet all it takes is Black Widow to beat him.

Well it isn't the same Taskmaster from Spider-Man PS4. So it's somewhat understandable that he wouldn't have the same voice actor.

@@theyautjawarrior6652 I would love for them to do a shared video game universe like the MCU, but I doubt they're going that route. Plus a developer on the game said during a recent interview that this is "their world" they're making when asked about Taskmaster. Something along those lines.
