This is wonderful. I have just started to learn Bridge and there are six classes in all. I had no knowledge and have really struggled within this tight time frame. I was thinking of leaving after Week 3. Since I found your lessons, my faith in myself has been restored. When I found 'Learn Bridge in Five Minutes' it gave me the overview that I needed, it gave me a starting point, and I am doing so well now with your more detailed lessons. Thank you so much Peter. You are an excellent teacher.
This video is four years old, yet I just found it today. I just moved into an apartment building and there is a lot of cards being played in the games room. I have played Euchre for decades but never Bridge. I have read MANY websites and books on Bridge and was quite confused - hesitant to even look further into the game, but this video is so well presented - I have a very clear understanding of the game. Thank you so very much Peter!
Excellent class, so much clear information in one lesson! So important not to try and cram too much complex information at once and to learn slowly step by step. Many thanks!!
Hi Pete. I’m just starting to learn and I find you and your class excellent for me and to get me started. I got your site from a friend who lives in the Netherlands 🇳🇱 and I live in New York on Long Island. I appreciate your teaching style and thank you very much for doing this for us. Have a great day.
This is was an excellent overview of the game. I only started playing a couple of months ago and I am finding it incredibly difficult to take in all the rules, complexity and nuances. You explained things very clearly. I look forward to viewing more of your videos. I hope some day that this game will finally become second nature - but I feel it will take years!
i finished live course novice level, i tried to play bbo, but everybody yells faster, faster and kick me out of tables because i am too weak..is there any tables at bbo for novice/beginners?
This is a major issue I have with various sites. My recommendation is to build some experience playing against the robots. Not the perfect solution but where I would play.
Good video for a beginner like me, but the link to Bridge base does not correspond to the screen used at all. Can you update best way of getting the same screen?
Thanks for swift reply. After your message tested on PC and works it is the Ipad it does not work, poor formatting of screen and lots of ads. Thanks and on to lesson two on the PC. @@BridgeWithPete
All working well now on computer and Ipad. How do I get the flow charts in lesson 2 as fuzzy on screen I can read or copy from screen? Thanks for your lessons learning a lot!
This is Standard. Acol is a different system but you will still get lots of decent concepts out of it. There is only a small change between Acol and standard anyway
Double is used to up the scoring and say I don't think the opponents can make (play for higher stakes). All though most people use a double at a low level as artificial and say partner I want to overcall but I like all the other suits except the one they are in, can you please take out the double to your favourite suit.

Fleming's novel "Moonraker" sent me here.

This is how a bridge tutorial should be done, you show them how to play a game and the rules will then make sense.
Thanks!

How does the initial trump suite get established
Bidding occurs. The partnership willing to contract for the most tricks is choosing the trump suit while they do that.
@@BridgeWithPete ahhhh ty
Is this ACOL Bridge he's teaching or another version?

Meteor Garden brought me here...
What if none of the players can follow a suit?
Three people get to discard and play any suit. Still only the suit that was led can win unless it is trumped.
What does Dbl mean and do?

so this is more of a 3 player game with one person being a spectator?
for the card play aspect, yes. I consider it a short break. Usually people play bridge for long periods and it is a bit of a rest period.
Bond : Zorin was terrible at bridge
This fellow talks too fast and he mumbles a lot!
