      Hey Do you know what kind of thermal paste was used? I picked up Kryonaut Thermal Grizzly to use on everything but the liquid metal part and wanted to be sure that's ok since I hear it's not good to use on copper touching parts.

    this is exactly what i needed, my zephyrus needs some love now after over a year since i got it. need to replace the power jack and the fans are rattling violently with intervals, and the main screen has a bunch of lines running horizontally at the bottom that mirrors the image from the top, since my cursor projects to the bottom lines if i position the cursor to the very top of the screen.

      Torx 5 (but I advise you to get a kit that contains 4-7 Torx screwdrivers). No, it is not necessary to remove, just disconnect it to avoid any short circuit during the installation process. (I installed many m.2 SSD with connected batteries, but this is a precautious step for the beginners)

      That is a clip, holding the screw in place. It is a design choise by ASUS to lift up the back cover when you are untight it. But those screws are non-removable.

    So uhhhh I need some help....I bought a new ssd in hopes of upgrading storage, but when I opened the laptop the screw holding the old ssd was rounded out somehow and wouldn't budge, so I tried a couple methods to get it out and ended up breaking the top of the screw off....switched out the ssd though but didn't know I should've disconnected the battery first...and when I tried to close the laptop I found out 2 of the torx screws to attach the bottom of the laptop were missing....and now it won't turn on. It charges, I plugged it in and it seems the laptop is in fact still alive I think, but it itself won't turn on...so do you know any way I could undo these mistakes...?💀

    Great video! I am watching because my brand new duo ryzen 9 3080, the trackpad is lifting up on the top left corner. I can push it down and it sticks for about 5mins then lifts again, I am wondering what would be pushing it out from inside. Hopefully not a swelling battery. Do you know what may cause this? there is definitely tension of something pushing out the top left corner. Very annoying on an expensive laptop. I am still waiting to hear back from the store where I bought it. Even if they could replace it, it looks like they are extremely hard to get.

    Is it using liquid metal before you replaced it with thermal paste? I'm curious about this laptop using liquid metal, i have one and the temperature seems terrifying, idle can be 60°c and gaming between 78-90°c sometimes spike to 93°c, is it true they using liquid metal or only gimmick?

    • @MakaiTechReviews
      @MakaiTechReviews  Před rokem +1

      Yes it does use liquid metal (but only in the CPU). As of your temperatures, these are "normal" numbers. As long as you are not experience any thermal throttling you are good to go.

    Hi there, nice vid.
    I have an Asus Rog Zephyrus Duo 15 SE 4k with 3080 gpu and ryzen 5980HX and my processor run very hot most of the time in idle even in idle mode. In Performance mode I have 95 degrees and going up to 100 and I wonder what is wrong with it.
    The GPU stays normal in 65 degrees most of the time. I've checked the fans, and had some dust, I clean them, but I do not understand why my cpu runs so hot, is even giving me frame drop and is quite annoying having it all the time running so hot.
    I understood that it might be related to the Armoury crate software, or I need to undervolt my cpu, since you said that the liquid paste you do not need to change it ever.
    Please help me out with some thoughts !
    Thanks in advance.
