Stumbled across this channel, and it cost me £140, had to have the 026, between this channel and another Scottish guy I can't stop buying watches, this from a person who only ever needed a single watch 😂😂👍
I bought the baby blue dial version about 6mos ago and I can confirm that for the price these are absolutely fantastic. The bracelets are, well....Seiko bracelets. So take that for what you will, but with a simple strap or bracelet change it really lifts them up. A super reliable Seiko, quartz grab and go and they look fantastic for less than $200 how can you go wrong. You would pay at least that, if not more for a micro or aliexpress brand.
Agreed - got the same and wanted to swap out the bracelet. Had a spare black and grey/blueish striped nato that I got free with a PaganiD watch. Stuck that on whilst I found a strap I was after, but I like it on the nato for now. Bracelet is fresh in the box in case I decide to sell it on.
Justin the pro diver is made with a Seiko movements, both the Seiko NH 35 a and also Seiko quartz movement, the best they make is a Swiss movement, both automatic and Rohnda quartz movement . The Seiko movement is excellent also. I am wearing a nice 60 dollar automatic invicta with Seiko NH 35 a movement. These can be had new on ebay for under 100 dollars , some models such as the titanium pro diver are around 120 dollars new. I am salivating over the Pepsi bezel blue dial titanium watch right now. Invicta makes many different designs to choose from. Avoid anything invicta makes without a Swiss or japense movement. Many of their watches such as the pro diver are based on Rolex designs so they are very handsome , comfortable and functional. Then they make the oversized diver watches also that are super fancy. The most handsome watch I own that gets more complements than any watch I have ever seen is a gold invicta sub aqua Noma 1 , they can be found between the 150 dollar to 300 dollar range normally. Comes in both Swiss and Japanese movements. These watches look just as good(better) than most Rolex watches. You will just have to go through the designs and shop. You won’t break the bank and not stress about scratching a ten thousand dollar watch. Try product family code of PF 16826 , I believe the model number on this watch is 39348 , EBay is one of the best places to buy a invicta watch. You can also find them at TJ max frequently , if you want to fit and try one on then buy one on line is a good way of saving some money on your watch collection. I personally think the invicta is a much better watch than Seiko, they have nicer finish and design than the Seiko do. Thanks for the reply. Always nice to converse with fellow watch enthusiasts.

Given it has hollow end links and pressed clasp I soon realised that if a homage is what you're after, Aliexpress offers a much better experience (quality wise) for the same money or marginally more. I ended up putting my pro diver (open heart) dial and movement into a 40mm "Maxi" black PVD case and on a black silicone strap + black glide lock clasp - love that watch. had a few gold plated watches over the years, but to be honest, the finish just doesnt last. call me a snob (though hopefully can't be as I dont own any!) but I came to a realisation that if i was to have gold (case/bracelet) I want it to be solid. I have shifted to thinking that watches are a store of memories and so I want that watch to have longevity in terms of reliability and also finish (for if/when I hand them down) Sounds like we have the same tastes just at different timings. Keep enjoying the journey!
I know it's not a super popular choice, but I'm a sucker for gold hands on a black dial! That two tone one is definitely my pick of the bunch. Thanks for putting these on my radar!

Can't believe you guys are just discovering it now. I've sold a lot of these model from my Japan trip in 2020 and only few noticed when I put it on listing, a lot don't look impressed by photos until they find its beauty in person. The only thing I don't like about it is the alignment issues. Most do not notice it but the hour markers do not align sometimes with the bezel.
I bought the blue one last december and I have to say the watch is highly accurate since mine is still on time after two months, not a minute late or advanced. I love the blue dial. This is probably my only seiko that is a quartz since all my others are mechanical
G'day Gary, a beautiful bunch of watches. I actually love the Black and Gold, always been a fan of those colours. They match my team, the Mighty Richmond Tigers in the Australian Football League. I don't think you'll have any problems selling them. Have a good one mate.

Great review. I am definitely falling for Seiko. I’ve got a solar quartz and these ones look so well finished. I’m so glad I watched this and saw the sbtr026 in a different light. On the Sakura web page it looks very different.

I have never had much luck with Seiko watches, to bee honest. Just one example, I received a nice Seiko chronograph for a present, a few years ago now. It functioned fine for around 5 years, then when it was time for a battery replacement, I was informed that it wasn't a battery issue but the watch itself was faulty. /Had a similar experience with one I bought for my wife. I have consequently lost faith in Seiko.
Very nice! Ive tried to like quartz and even mechaquartz but i cant get on board. They just leave me cold compared to mechanical offerings. We cant all like the same things though and the watches themselves look awesome

@@LombardoJoe Im 99% sure that the colours on the website look different because of the lighting. Compare the other watches shown in the videos with their website counterpart. They all look differently.

I wish these come with eco drive because every time I have my battery change they either screw up my watch or the battery life is horrible. Sick and tired of battery changes which is why I only buy mechanical or the solar eco drive quartz. I will make an exception with the Grand Seiko quartz someday
I think the trick to these cheap JDM watches is to buy a high quality aftermarket metal bracelet and them move it between watches as you wear the, assuming the same lug width of course.
Wow they are good looking watches, id definitely would take off the cheap steal clasp and put on a cloth strap or experiment on some NATO straps... although I don't need a tachimeter style watch ever and wouldn't want one TBH, there are some great watches by Japan that are amazing and enjoyable. I've got Casio g shock, a Seiko mechanical and a JDM citizen promaster in titanium, they really great. Great video. 👍

Sbtr026 is the pick of the bunch for me. If you can put it on ebay after the 20th when I get paid as Christmas and black Friday has punished me.... Sort of related lots of people I know are getting the gift of Casio F91W
Importing it was easy enough…I’ll need to sell it soon sadly but if they sell quick I might import a couple more because I know some people like the convenience of getting it from my store.
I quite like the look of the 015 black and gold version, I don't have any "blingy" watches in my small collection and it might be nice to have something like that to wear when I want to look a bit flashy. Lol
I'm wearing the 015 right now. I'm a small time collector and I can confirm the 015 is extremely nice for the price. I own a tissot prx and IMO the seiko seems more premium than the PRX, excluding the bracelet. So yeah, $150 seiko essentially seeming nicer than a Tissot PRX side by side...
The 24 hour subdial loses it for me. That dial could have been used as a 1/10 second counter or as an hour counter for the chronograph. It is not possible to adjust the 24 hour hand. It moves in lockstep with the large hour hand. If it cannot be adjusted, it cannot be used as a second time zone, which would be handy So the 24 hour dial is literally only an am/pm indicator. Who needs that? You can look outside and see if it is daytime or nightime to see if it am or pm, there is not need for a dial on a watch to tell you that.
All I can say about Chrono's is - Put them in Room 101. And what use is a Tachymeter? Does ANYONE use them?? If you want to see a REALLY good JDM watch, have a look at the Citizen PMD56-2951, and the PMD56-2952...
Gary, just a technical question. Was there a tax and/or duty attached when buying from Sakura Watch? I'm just asking as I've got my eyes on one Citizen watch there.

Invicta uses Seiko movements and is a million times nicer looking watch for way less money. Just saying.

Seiko makes great products. I bought a clock for $200 in 1990, and here we are 30 yrs later and still the most accurate clock ever.
I have the 029 for about 7 months now. Bought it because it gave me platinum daytona vibes. These are actually great value, regardless if its quartz.

I agree actually. Sometimes glitzy things can look a bit cheap and nasty, but this particular Seiko looks great and is still tasteful.
