  • Living Entertainment North Coast is one of the many stores in Lismore NSW Australia that was flooded this past weekend. The damage was catastrophic. Owner and Systems Consultant Nat takes you for a tour of what is left of the store after these most devastating floods.
If you would like to help us get back on our feet please visit:
    www.lenc.com.au/
OR check out the fundraiser the staff have put together for owners Nat and Renae:
    www.gofundme.c...
We have 2 more videos that were filmed before the flooding, these being on the Mojo 2 and the Moonriver 404 Range respectively. We don't have solid release dates for these videos at this time for obvious reasons, but they will be out soon.
Thank you for the support everyone, it really is greatly appreciated.

A GoFundMe has been set up to support Nat & Renae in the cleanup if you are in any position to do so. See link in the description above.

So devastating to watch this, had to turn it off before the end. My heart goes out to Nat and the LENC team, I can’t begin to imagine how you are all feeling. Stores like yours are a rare gem and I hope you’re able to get back to doing what you love (and we love) in the near future. Stay strong guys ✊

This was such a hard watch, can’t even imagine how hard it is for you, your family and staff. I always support my local Hifi stores in Brisbane. But I love your channel and will support you with an online purchase once you are up and running again be it a physical store or just an online store. All the best.

It's so easy for us to sit in our warm, dry homes on the other side of the world and amuse ourselves by watching videos of all manner of things. I think we even get hardened to the grim news of disasters such as the war in Ukraine or these floods. And then occasionally something will just hit you and you realise the truth of how hard this fucking world really can be. This video did that for me. I hope you and all the other people affected get through it. Thank you for this lesson I have learned.

This is just heartbreaking- you and the team built such a beautiful business and world class instore experience that is now ruined. This is just unbelievably brutal, 2017, then covid, then this.

this looks like the wall murals in Eggins Lane. Were you down that way? I moved from Lismore to Nowra just before Xmas. Left behind so many friends and family and my heart is broken for all of you still stuck there :(

Devastating indeed - for you and all the other Lismore businesses and residents.
But rather than start again in the same place, isn't it time people stopped building and operating on a notorious flood plain? The town has had 29 floods rated Major since records began in 1887 (almost half of which exceeded the height of the levee, whether it was there or was yet to be built), 45 Moderate, and 53 Minor: 127 floods over 135 years. One might hope that people and governments would learn a lesson - but it seems not.
Time to move everything from the floodplain to the hills. The government(s) will need to inject millions into such a relocation project, and individuals will need to pull their weight too, but to keep doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results is a fool's errand.
Back in the early 2000s when the levee was being discussed, many of us said that it was a lemon. We've now been proven right twice. All the levee does is give a little more time for people to move things higher - and this flood shows the futility of that. It also increases flood damage for residents of North and South Lismore - but never mind: they're just poor people who (apparently) don't matter.
I lived through the '54, '74, '89, and 2017 floods in Lismore and assure you there's no point in trying to mitigate against such events. Mitigation obviously doesn't work. Move to the hills.
If sufficient business and residents pressure the council, that body will just have to release appropriate flood-free land for the move. If they don't, mount a massive class action against them for unconscionable obstructionism.
(Note that Lismore City Council moved its chambers to Goonellabah because of the frequent flooding of its downtown chambers. What's good for the goose ... .)

Hi Nat and Renae, that is incredible that the flooding has reached those levels. I don't know if this is helpful or even wise. I am in the market for a high quality stereo amplifier and would be interested in purchasing something, that may have been flooded but would likely be ok with a clean up. I understand that warranty would be void. For example if one of those Hegal amps is salvagable, or any other excellent stereo amps, I would be interested in purchasing from you. Let me know if this may be helpful.

I am not entirely sure if it's actually legal to sell them, it's something we will have to look into. We will let you know if it's something we can do. Thanks for reaching out. :)
