- If you’re looking for a reason to start your indoor garden, maybe this will help.
Whenever we start our indoor garden setup, it’s usually close to winter season. Maybe you’re in a similar situation where it’s either too cold or too hot to garden outdoors, or you simply do not have the backyard space to grow. If that’s the case, indoor gardening is a great option
We installed an 8x8 grow in our basement and the kit includes a ventilation system and SF600 Grow lights which is the most essential part of growing food indoors. It’s important to have these if you want to have a successful indoor garden. They are designed to substitute natural sunlight, stimulating photosynthesis. With this set up from Spider Farmer, we controlled the environment inside the tent. This allowed us to grow our food anytime no matter the weather.
Below is the equipment we used to get started with indoor gardening.
Grow tent size: 8x8 Grow tent (You can get smaller size like a 2x4)
Grow light: SF600
This only consumes 74W of power which is highly efficient and saves on energy costs.
Sunlike full spectrum light with a 120° beam angle that ranges from red to blue to warm-white, making it perfect for plant germination, flowering, and fruiting.
Spider Farmer Plant Stand
Heavy duty 3 tier stand is great for seed starting and growing potted plants. It perfectly fits SF600 grow lights.
Fan: 4-Inch 205CFM Inline Fan
This is small for an 8x8 tent, but it still worked perfectly to control moisture buildup inside the tent. It also comes with the Carbon Filters which purifies and filters out molds, spores, dust, pollen, odors, and other harmful particles.

Creativity is endless, but this is the first time I've seen this creative way of growing vegetables. Everything grew amazingly and cleanly.
it's amazing how many varieties of food you can actually grow indoors. We started doing this on a small scale and have evolved into this😊
@@plantedinthegarden That's great and interesting
Never get tired of watching you grow and harvest. Fascinating!🌻🐛🌿💚🙏💕
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch our videos😊
This is SOOOOOO GOALS!!!!!
Turn that into an aquaponics set up and it really is a plant and forget 😂
Thank you for showing the process with this set upn its AWESOME!!
Aquaponics is something that I've always wanted to get into. I really like the natural approach to it
Senang lihat tanamannya mulai berbunga.... Perkawinan agar cepat menjadi bakal buah..
Thank you, I love your channel.
Thank you for the love💚
Thank you for your fab tutorial , so informative and inspiring, your produce looks great :)
Thank you so much💚
awesome tips! thanks for sharing!
Thank you, happy to share😊
Love your videos, I feel like I am gardening
Thank you for watching, glad our videos make you feel that way😊
Sweet setup! Thanks for sharing. Cheers.
It's a really great option for us to grow indoors, our long winter season can be depressing and this keeps us going😊
What a great video. I actually never thought of this type of growing. Is the food as nutritional as grown in soil? Your videos always inspire me, and are so informational, as well as calm.
Thank you so much, it's hard to measure nutritional value from soil grown to hydroponic. Both are harvested fresh and grown with nutrients. The difference is that hydroponic grown get direct access to nutrients while soil grown takes a slower time.
Luv all your videos lets grow💪🏾🌲🙏🏾
Thank you so much💚
Video anda sangat menginspirasi, nice...
Thank you so much💚
So much power (energy) for just... But beautiful work.
Most grow lights nowadays are energy efficient. We also run our lights at night during off peak hours.
@plantedinthegarden what is the light cycle you use again? Is it 12 on 12 off?
Great video ❤
Thank you💚
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
👏👏👏
Well.. if you have solar panels, its ok... i guess... luckily, our winter is very mild so... we can use a greenhouse. By the way... if you have fish, you may can consider doing an aquaponics system... we have one and its wonderful for lettuce and tomatoes
I think that's the ultimate goal, solar panel and aquaponics combined😊
Thanks for sharing your beautiful setup and amazing results! Which organic nutrient would you recommend for this type of setup? Looking forward to learning more!
Thank you, we went with an organic liquid nutrients. Here's the link on amazon amzn.to/3znMvVb It's pure blend pro
@@plantedinthegardenThank you sharing! Very much appreciated! 😊
Do you ever have the issue of bugs finding their way in there and eating them up?
That's one thing we practice with our indoor garden, preventative measures. We make sure not to bring in any outdoor plants, we don't go from the garden straight into the tent. We also went with hydroponics to avoid bugs from store bought soil.
I love this and I really need this but it's a bit pricy
Definitely don't need to go as big as this, we started ours with a simple shelf and grow light set up and eventually ended up with this. There are smaller grow tent version with full kit a decent price.

My comment got deleted? All I asked is what nutrients and pump do you use so I can buy everything . I have everything in my cart with your code I’m using…
For nutrients we use Organic liquid nutrients called pure blend pro. Here's the link to our amazon hydroponic equipment recommendations amzn.to/3RRCnKJ
Hi, this is yet another amazing technique I hope to try. Wonder where can get such a contraption. More importantly, may I ask what is the estimate power consumption requirement for your exact set-up please? Thank you.
We’re using six SF600 Spider Farmer LED lights that we run at night during ultra low peak for 12 straight hours. Each light consumes only 74Wh and this is what it calculates to monthly.
Ultra low peak, 8 hours (cost $0.028)
74W x 6 lights x 8 hours x 30 days ÷ 1000 = 106.56 Kwh
106.56 x 0.028 = $2.98
Mid peak, 4 hours (cost $0.1220)
74W x 6 lights x 4 hours x 30 days ÷ 1000 = 53.28 Kwh
53.28 x 0.1220 = $6.50
Every month, it only costs $9.48

@@plantedinthegarden 👌 Thank you!
Also, do you keep the lights on 24/7 or do you also have them on a timer and switched on for only a fixed number of hours a day? Thank you.
We have everything set on a timer including the fans. The lights are on for about 12-16 hours depending on the growth stage.
Is there a reason why you chose black containets instead of clear white ones (so you can see the water level)
Light encourages algae growth, darkness inhibits it. Algae doesn't harm the plant, but it is difficult to clean for the next batch and more importantly it uses up nutrients.
@@tammyjoeesser582 Great answers, thanks💚
Why do you grow many peppers? I'm genuinely curious
I just love eating them😊
How do you deal with aphids and scale?
We do this by prevention, we try not to bring any outdoor plants into our indoor space. But if you do end up having these, a good castille soap and water spray will help with aphids. and for scale, alcohol and water spray works.
How do you prevent mold?
Having a good airflow will help with mold prevention. We added an inline duct fan to circulate the air.
