First Ride at Shady Oaks ATV Trail

- Today's ride takes us to Russell Minnesota to try out the Shady Oaks Native Prairie Trail. These trails sit on about 100 acres of property and have about 6 miles of total trail. The property owner has also implemented a scavenger hunt within the trail network for riders to spot. Overall this is a fun trail system with no real technical challenges. Lots of windy loops with tons of intersections and plenty of signage. This is definitely a great place to bring a beginner rider or family to have a picnic.

Yes, that definitely hurts!! Happened to me years ago in a Gncc race!! Someone passed me on a 250r Honda and kicked up a baseball size rock . Took a direct hit in my shoulder!! I wanted to cry!!! Lol 😂

Only reason he doesn’t have the parking break removed is because his worked, I had an 08 raptor 250 with it but I didn’t remove it because it worked which was rare

hey pete you are prob not going to see it but i bought a skid plate and a arms protection for my raptor 700 and i would like to know if u have those ugly noises and the handelbars vibrate from that as well and even when i tighten all the bolts its stiil doing it is there any soultion?

When I mentioned a “4x4” I was referring to the more laid back, easy going riding that most people do with utility machines 😅
when Ur in sand dunes with Ur gopro do you have a case on it or just the gopro alone?
The first 5 minutes of this video shares the set up that I use. I did recently upgrade from the hero7 with the ulanzi mic adapter cage to the hero11 with the media mod cage. The set ups aren’t completely water proof so I have to be careful with puddles so I don’t ruin anything but it’s worked great over the years. I’m super impressed with the new hero11 and the endurance batteries. I do edit color and sound in post production. My son's and I are looking for for good sport ATV trails that aren't all rutted out from sxs. We live near Cincinnati Ohio. We're willing to travel for some good trail riding. Any suggestions would be awesome! Thanks!

Show you the whole trail lol? I’m not sure when I’ll come back to this place. Maybe later this season, it would be fun without the foliage because you could see blind corners much easier

@@usielcastillo7215 I recently rode Namadji state forest, I put up a video last fall. I also have videos at General CC Andrews, Gilbert/Iron Range, Snake Creek/Trout Valley, Chatfield, and Spider Lake. Spider Lake is one of my favorites for the sport quads but weekends can be busy..

If you had to choose Scrambler 2023 or Banshee 1995 which one would you pick?
I feel thats not a good question because they are so completely different.
Lol those are definitely polar opposites. It would be super fun to have a banshee but I don’t think I would want to be riding one all the time. However I wouldn’t want just a scrambler either. At the end of the day, straight axles win and manual transmissions win🤘
How's the Polaris holding up? I want a scrambler or a sportsman, but I see people saying Polaris quality is bad.
They're just generally not reliable
So far it’s been good but it was a brand new unit. I think we’ve put about 300 miles on it without any issues. We return it soon so I won’t have long term reliability experience unfortunately 👍

Why? That’s plenty of fast trails for a 450.
It would’ve been okay on the YFZR but the Raptor was a bit more practical. I love the YFZ when we have access to berms and jumps!
