  • In this video, Judge dives deep into the often misunderstood differences between "seasons" and "scenarios" in Once Human. There's been a lot of confusion about how progression works from season to season and scenario to scenario, and Judge is here to clear it all up.
The terms "season" and "scenario" are often used interchangeably, leading to mixed messages and misunderstandings within the community. In Once Human, there are four scenarios each year, and each scenario is divided into two parts: a novice portion and a normal/hard portion. However, both the developers and players have been using the term "season" to describe these smaller segments of the larger scenarios, causing even more confusion. To complicate matters further, it seems the developers sometimes refer to scenarios as seasons as well.
Join Judge as he breaks down how scenarios and seasons actually work. By the end of this video, you'll have a clear understanding of the progression system in Once Human.

After the video Posted I spent some time reviewing Seasons Vs Scenarios.
I think the Developers are using "Season" as a subset of a "Scenario". Most Western brains are not trained this way. I think if they said "Scenarios" are subsets of "Seasons". If you asked any average gamer if the Manibus episode was a Season or Scenario, I assume they would say Season. They would then say the 6/7 week gameplay loop was a "Scenario" of that season, as Scenario means - a sequence of events especially when imagined.
A better way to do this would have just been to use Industrial standards and call the larger overarching events Seasons, and the smaller items that span weeks episodes. I think this would help clear up some of the confusion around the terminology.
Having said all of that, the terminology does not really change the content of the video :)

Amazing channel, straight forward, no wasteful filler, A+ channel, thank you.

In your first example they didn't use them interchangeably. You can jump into any scenario, meaning one of the 2 current or 2 upcoming scenarios (i.e. Manibus, Evolutions Call), which would mean youre leaving your current season (which is the Phase 1-6 on your server) to join a new season (another set of phases) regardless of the scenario you picked.. Or you can continue on the same server (same season) until it ends.. At which point whatever you do, or where ever you go will be a new season. Hope that clears it up lol.

Thanks for the comment. If you look I did have a pinned comment discussing this point. After recording the video I did consider that the devs were not using them completely interchangeably. I explain that in the pinned comment. The TLDR is that they are trying to redefine how the word season works. Basically if they called the manibus part a season and the stuff we do for 6 weeks a scenario it would have caused less confusion.

Hey, I’m mainly a story mode game player (PvE). I'm just wondering, will story mode progress transfer to the new season? Will I be able to continue from the last "quest" I started in the previous season? I’m asking because I don’t see this fully described in the "content carried to the new season" tab in the game.

Quest progression carries over so you should be able to pick up where you left off. You can also do like an abridged version of the quests if you want.

Bro I’m about to quit the game over the convoluted bullshit. It’s fun but I feel this is a game that doesn’t respect players time

I just started playing once human. Why do they wipe the servers? Is there a lore reason?

Think it’s just to keep things “fresh”. It’s not to bad because you do keep your BP’s, most currencies, and a few other things

@@JudgeGray I dont think this would be the best game to play with friends. Dont you think?
People who have lesser time would find it frustrating. Does the community have this issue?

I can't see wasting much on the controllers though, I have over 200 of them, never really even figured out what they were for except to use once at the silos.......

    • @JudgeGray
      @JudgeGray  Před 24 dny +1

Oh for sure. I get that. I just don’t see the need to bring anything other than deviants. Backfilling with controllers gives you a shot at the new mod suffixes and other premium resources (weapon calibrations etc). Ultimately it’s up to you as the player. It’s just my suggestion:)

If you play PVE I can help you with that... You can put the mouse indicator above the mods and press J, once you do it a wikipedia will pop up and you can see that the best mod atributes will come from Prime War. Each Prime War you complete with 1300 rating will reward you with 3 boxes with mods, the better ones come from Prime War Nightmare and you spend controllers to open it. If you have 200 controllers or you're so lucky that you have gotten all the best mods ever or you're not reaching the best potential of your build.
note: forgive me if you play on pvp servers, idk how you can spend your controllers there.

@@vitu8014 Thank you, I am PVE, but have never touched the Prime War stuff, I am totally solo play, and have heard that they need multiple people to come out alive 🙂

@@joebonaiuto5554 Yes, but you don't need to join a team or anything. You can start a Prime War yourself solo and others will join it, virtually guaranteed. Every PW my wife and I have started wound up attracting at least a dozen players. Everyone wants in on them. They really are fun and very worthwhile for the better loot that is going to assist whatever build you're running. If you don't do PW, you're really missing out on a pretty core mechanic, not to mention 4000 Starchrom.

    • @BobFromSeattle

Controllers give you the option of GREATLY increasing the loot you get from encounters. If you're not using controllers you're throwing away massively better loot. Not sure what you mean by "once at the silos". I use them every time I run a silo. I like to run EX1 in Pro mode solo and I would be crazy not to use my controllers at the end. That's why Controllers are in such demand, everyone wants them to get the best loot. Seriously, check them out.
