It's the story with A'Rou that stops me from completely hating on the emporer. He was sneaky, he made everyone there hate her by seeming to favour her, but then treating her poorly behind the scenes. It was masterful.
A good way to smoke her out. Even after all that, she still tried to frame Ruyi thinking she'd get the real 'favor' of the Emperor. But it didn't happen. He knew she was lying, but had to find another way to bring it all out in the open.
That Empress made me ill. She did so much dirt and then expected Ruyi to be all fine with spending 3yrs in prison suffering and surviving murder attempts for something EVERYBODY knew she didn't do.
Random: Why didn't Ruyi get fancy clothes to wear? She was always so plain.

2.如懿明面上還沒有完全洗清冤屈，打扮太華麗其實也不合適。而且那件衣服看著素淨，其實衣服的顏色也是高位者才有資格穿的，低位嬪妃要穿還穿不上
