A new 1st Dan might get away with some of those misses on the basics. But some are pretty blatant and should have been cleaned up as a brown belt. By that time he should have been doing Godan for a pretty good while.
It says Shotokan JKA and yet is anything but JKA kata. Then it says in the style of Funakoshi Sensei. But what does that mean? 1934? It looks like an attempt to mix JKA basics with the kata as they appear in the Ohshima translation of karate do kyohan. I can assure you the kata are not performed remotely in this way by students of Mr. Ohshima.

@@chjani7637 - It is a valid question. The footwork is horrible, particularly his Zenkutsu dachi. But the hand work is crisp, even when not correct. I believe he has a black belt.

My Sensei and Immediate Senpais would turn in their graves, or the ones still teaching would shake their heads in disbelief and disgust. Would the performer of this comedy act, please inform me who passed him to 5th Kyu. No disrespect intended. This is disgraceful and embarrassing to Real Karate-Do.
