    Commemorating the feast of St Cecilia, patroness of musicians, I remember my Aunt, Sor Cecilia, OSA, who always asked me to sing this song to her. She died of COViD19 last April. I thank her for teaching me to be a musician like her. Thank you Scott brothers.

      She probably helped U to be a musician . She couldn't give U a talent . You already had it .

    This always makes me think of my much loved father , he use to be a choir boy in his youth and would always sing it in Latin . He still had a lovely voice long silenced now but fondly remembered .

    Hello Jonathan, This performance is very moving to me. It is because I sang this version of the Panis Angelicus as a young boy in my church choir. I am now in my 70's. I loved your performance and the beautiful images of St. Mariae Geburt. Be well, Will Ortiz

    Esta pieza la he tocado en piano y la adoro pero en órgano y con arreglos de Jonathan suena celestial y además es muy apropiada para estas fechas navideñas!!👏👏💖

    Despite not being of the Catholic religion, I admire the musical harmony of this song, as well as of the Ave Marias. And you, Jonathan, as always, very inspired. I've been absorbing some ideas on how to play the organ from just watching your videos. Happy music day.

    A curiosity: they chose a woman to be the patron saint of the Day of Music, Saint Cecilia, and they did not choose a saint, given that women entered the music scene much later as professionals and to this day they are still a minority.

    Panis angelicus
    fit panis hominum;
    Dat panis cœlicus
    figuris terminum:
    O res mirabilis!
    Manducat Dominum
    pauper, servus et humilis.
    Te trina Deitas
    unaque poscimus:
    Sic nos tu visita,
    sicut te colimus;
    Per tuas semitas
    duc nos quo tendimus,
    Ad lucem quam inhabitas.
    Amen.
    Translation:
    Thus Angels' Bread is made
    the Bread of man today:
    the Living Bread from heaven
    with figures dost away:
    O wondrous gift indeed!
    the poor and lowly may
    upon their Lord and Master feed.
    Thee, therefore, we implore,
    o Godhead, One in Three,
    so may Thou visit us
    as we now worship Thee;
    and lead us on Thy way,
    That we at last may see
    the light wherein Thou dwellest aye.
    Amen.

      These are great cathedrals and churches and these organs put in dives and bars would be a woeful disservice to them. They were designed for the cathedrals and churches and that is where they belong. Don't let your atheism jade your view of the music nor the instruments. Music was originally designed for worship services. It devolved to the bars and dives as society began its deterioration. These beautiful organs are where they are meant to be.

      @@ruralparadise8901 I wonder why you come to hear the classics played on such beautiful pipe organs. I guess you are one of the crazies of the world who truly believe that he (she or it, whatever your pronoun is) is all-knowing. If you are of the belief that only “contemporary” music counts, please leave this channel. Take your rotten eggs and go elsewhere. This channel is for those who are musically sophisticated. If you are so common as to want to throw rotten eggs at a true artist, you not only lack sophistication but you lack class as well. Bye!
