      Thanks for subscribing Jim! Hopefully I can crank out an even better video for next week! I'm heading back out there right now. I was out for a short bit yesterday and dug 4 more wheats and a silver so that'll be on the next video.

    I would be happy with a Wheat. Places around here are Hunted To Death..... Happy Hunting and Good luck 🤞🤞👍👍

      Thanks Dan! I've been kind of spoiled with all the silvers I've dug this year (49 so far) so the wheat pennies don't really get me going. They are fun to find but I don't know if too many people get excited about them.

    Man thats a decent day digging mercs,rosies,quarters too! My last one was few clads,a huge horseshoe,from logging,and a big rattlesnake,he didnt appreciate me disturbing his nap either,lol!

      @EmptyWilbur  Před 3 měsíci

      Thanks James! I kind of wish I could get over a little older stuff but I'm happy with my results. You gotta watch those rattlers......I've had those buggers chase me before in Southeast Montana while out fossil hunting.

    Awesome vids. Keep on making them. I’m out in the northwest part of the state. I have been thinking about recording my hunts. Guess I have actually make it out to record them. 😂 Anyway thanks for the action.

      Thanks man! Sounds like you're up in no-mans-land up there. Tough detecting up in that area, good luck to ya though!

    Spent my HS days (79-83) in Kenmare. Are you anywhere close? Some real nice digs there including silver in the hole, Gotta Love It!

      @dirtlifedetecting Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@EmptyWilbur I left Kenmare right after high school in '83 and came to Iowa (extended family). Only time I've ever been back was two summers ago for a drive through before we vacationed at Roosevelt National Park.

    Could be a really good hunt! Always had lucky finds around old schools!

    • @EmptyWilbur
      @EmptyWilbur  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I've never had a lot of luck around old school houses from the early 1900's. I think a lot of the guys who bought detectors when they first came out hit these places pretty hard since they are public property. I was surprised I got anything from there let alone a silver!

  • @jamesprentice5503

    A 1940S and a 1941 mercury dime,silver nice!

    You guys should check out the treasure dog of maine. He gets some insane stuff off colonial beaches with the minelab equinox series

    • @EmptyWilbur
      @EmptyWilbur  Před 3 měsíci

      I may have to check that out.....I always like seeing that really old stuff they have over there. The oldest we detect in my area is mid 1800's at the oldest. Most everything I dig is early 1900's to 1950's.......I can't stand digging clad!

    Hello. Just found your channel. I was born and mostly raised in southeast ND. Nice finds after a long winter.

    • @EmptyWilbur
      @EmptyWilbur  Před 3 měsíci

      Thanks Brett! I just started my channel about a month and a half ago. Would have liked to start it earlier but good old ND winters don't want you enjoying the outdoors too much!

    • @bretthovde2765
      @bretthovde2765 Před 3 měsíci +1

      Lol. So true. I live in southwest SD now. A little shorter winter but still no detecting for about 4 months or more. Keep up the good work.

    Hello, enjoyed your video. Do not see many that accually show the dig. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of shovel are you using? Looks to be pretty light weight.

    • @EmptyWilbur
      @EmptyWilbur  Před 3 měsíci

      Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it! What I use is an Anaconda NX-6 Tempered Steel 36" Shovel. It works very well and is quite light. Only problem I've run into is I've bent and broken a couple trying to dig super hard or frozen ground......which I probably shouldn't be digging or cranking on a shovel in in the first place. I've got two of them so I always have a back-up. They run about $100.

    What are your thoughts on the CTX 30/30

    • @EmptyWilbur
      @EmptyWilbur  Před 3 měsíci +2

      Huge fan of the CTX3030. It is a bit heavier than most detectors so you get pretty worn out after a day full of swinging but I feel like it really gives you a good idea of what you're digging and picks out those hidden, semi-masked signals. I'm thinking about buying a second one to have as a backup just in case they quit making them in the future like they did with the Etrac.

    Newbie just wondering make of shovel . Thanks

    • @EmptyWilbur
      @EmptyWilbur  Před 3 měsíci

      Thanks for watching and subscribing! What I use is a 36" Anaconda NX‑6 Tempered Steel Shovel. It works great in pretty much any condition.....except frozen ground. I've destroyed a couple of them trying to dig that stuff.

    Right from the start, too much swinging and useless information unless you have that exact same detector.
