A fellow producer wrote this extremely flattering bio for me. Feels slightly weird to self promote, so I'll let my buddy Tim do it for me:
"For over 10 years, Evan Pollock has worked with a diverse range of clients to create cinematic, story-driven commercials that effectively connect businesses to their audience. He and his team travel across the globe producing narrative advertisements, documentaries, and music videos. Evan believes that every scene - and every frame - should help tell the story, never wasting a moment of the viewers’ time.
Much of his work focuses on the truth of what’s going on in front of his camera. Whether it’s a documentary feature film or a social media campaign, Evan searches for - and finds - the honesty in each of his subjects. From intimate moments to lively events, Pollock’s eye for story helps each of his projects pack the punch that his clients are looking for.
He is currently in production on an independent brewery documentary in Bellingham, WA called Brewingham which will premiere later this year."
This 2021 production reel is more than just a recap of my previous work. It's a big career step as I become less of a "one-man-band" operation in the commercial realm and dive into more teamwork and collaborations with fellow creatives. Today, I classify myself as a Director/Director of Photography (aka Cinematographer). Lets accomplish great things TOGETHER. Because no one accomplishes anything great alone.

This is the only 100% PERFECT Reel i've ever seen. Never seen something this good. Mind blowing, as another comment said.
Now for what I liked the most:
- It's not just a random ton of random footage, it has SOME kind of story.
- The music, perfectly cut with the pacing - especially the in-sync music-less breaks.
Dude thank you so so much! It took me so long to orchestrate something that shared the diverse range of my work while also being entertaining at the same time. I took lots of notes from others who have made incredible reels as well. So I borrowed from the best out there to try and create my own. Thank you so much for the love:)

Coming across this video two years late--your work is sick. As a fledgling filmmaker I hope to be able to reach these heights someday. Don't know if you'll see this or have the time to respond but I'm curious about the music video with the orange hue from approx 1:01-1:04. To what degree was that look achieved with lights/gels vs camera settings vs color grading? I'd kill to know how something like that is done. Thanks for any tips.

As for the music video, it’s called Lie With Me by Porter Union. I threw an RGB light onto the roof of the house since the sun was going down. Then I gazed the room to create some atmosphere. I like using just a couple lights as opposed to a lot:) so it was mostly achieved in camera.
