I really miss these days. Love to go back to 80s!
I really really love watching these old Nascar racing a whole whole lot and I still watch Nascar racing
1:01:30 Thanks for leaving the Tandy computer commercial in there! A beast of computing technology!
This track was so fucking cool back in the day
Love watching these old races
In a sport full of Heroic & extremely Tough Men, Bud Moore stood just a little taller than them all!
RIP Bud Moore, a TRUE AMERICAN BADDASS
✝️🇺🇸🎖️
Man.. neil dale and Davey was still with us awesome to have been there that day Dr Jerry sporting that stache 🤣
This is like Gordon at Charlotte in '97 and Bill at Talladega in '85...Dale cuts through the traffic like they're standing still.
You'd think that with Lampley's irritating announcing stint he did for the 1986 ABC-TV Indy 500 coverage, that the executive producer would have kept him away, in 1987, from doing another motorsport event . . . that is, unless all the other announcing talents were taking time-off or were busy with other commitments.
What this video provides for us when looking back to the televised NASCAR races of the past: A greater appreciation for the CBS-TV talents that did the Daytona 500 races in the 1990s.
From watching this you can conclude that this was freemason influenced and if you do not see that then you need to wake up... or else be herded with the rest of the sheep when the day of reckoning is upon us..
Im surprised Jack Arutes annoying Ivy leaguge ass isnt part of this like he was in 86’ race
It makes me miss Jim McCay, although McCay would have been the first to tell ya he did everything on the fly also. And Jackie Stewart
@Bloqk-16 why couldn't they have gotten Paul Page instead!? Or Bob Jenkins!?
I think it's safe to say Jim Lampley had no clue what he was witnessing here. Clueless.
2:15 almost looked like the announcers were cuddling right before the camera cut to them.
2:11:48 Jim : "I believe they have gone green"
Yes Jim. That's how come they're all racing around the track
great race, thank you for putting this on
Classic Earnhardt, can't see him, hugging that door.
Wow. Can you believe the guy in the pits asked Inman " what do you mean by wedge?" Even though these guys are pretty bad its at least comical as much as it is awkward.
@Brian Miller yep, and I thought NBC broadcasts were bad...at least they tell you what wedge is!
Poor ol Buddy Baker never caught a break! Seems like he was knocked out of so many races!
Interesting about Cope's hit into the inside wall at 41:38. The body and structure of the car didn't seem to absorb much impact. It looked to me like it crumpled like tissue until the rear end/wheel hit and drove all of the energy up the truck arms and right into the area under the bottom of his seat. I bet he was sore for a few days after that one.
I didn't know Rudd drove during the Motorcraft days, I knew he replaced Dale in the 15 but I never knew he drove the Motorcraft car too.
During those Motorcraft days Geoff Bodine drove the 15 Motorcraft Ford do we have the Martinsville and North Wilkesboro back-to-back weekends after they were rained out and ran on a Monday the North Wilkesboro race went from green flag to checkered flag
I love you smiff tv
Look at those crowds!
Yeah it's easy to have a crowd look this full when the seat capacity at the track is way less then what they have today.
Cale is looking out the windshield. Good to know.
56:06 tough hit for Harry Gant. But let’s not speculate...interesting commentary
I don't think the coverage was too bad, considering the era. Harry Gant looked knocked out there.
10:35 That bumping and driving looks like a blast compared to the cars these days!
Wow I am stunned. Jim lampley definitely didn't belong announcing this and he and the other guy do not work well together in the slightest. If I had watched it live 32 yrs ago I would have turned it off!
@Gregg W. Giddens . . . Given the Lampley/Posey announcing team did an irritating job with the ABC-TV 1986 Indy 500, I'm surprised the ABC executive producer would have them do another motorsport event a year later.
Made it 23 minutes before deciding it’s barely worth commenting. Maybe watch it muted, the video quality is good.
Never did like the abc race commentators. Except for Jerry Punch he has always been good.
Ricky Rudd is a legend!
Love the thumbnail pic
I dread every race covered by these two clowns in the booth. They make Mike Joy seem competent and that’s saying something.
Da Rooster!!
Why are they sitting so close? 😂
I would just skip this cause i cant stand sound of Posey or Lampleys struggling bad voicee but, hey, im binge watching chronologically.
Earnhardt damnit, that is all...
55:28 cool live shot
If dale sr hadnt of had an electrical problem, he would have won seven races straight lol
Jim Lampley and Sam Posey were beyond annoying calling this race.
When Nascar was great. A joke today
ABC didn’t own ESPN until 1995
45:11 Making the pit reporter sound like a fool...
is earnhardt any good?
Sam Posey was a great motorsports writer and ok driver in his day but as an announcer he wasn't hitting on much. Almost put you to sleep with his voice. Jim Lampley was out of his element. Needed to go back to calling figure skating or pole vault.......lol
That was the worst commentating I’ve ever heard for any event ever. With the exception of Dr. Jerry Punch every one of those people should’ve been kept as far away as possible from any nascar event
I forgot how horrible the ABC coverage team was. They butchered so many races. Paul page and B.Unser continued the horrible coverage. Only Dr Jerry Punch seemed natural.
No Toyota. Stands full.
Yeah it's easy to have a crowd look this full when the seat capacity at the track is way less then what they have today.
@@JRracing0116 yea. Your right. Nice excuse for your attempt to stand up for Toyota. Everything is down. But. This is how Toyota works. Nascar can’t even hold a national sponsor. Why do I think monster left. ? Idiot. U also on a side note should research Iwo Jima.
@@TheJrj430 what the hell are you on about kid.
I guarantee the inclusion or exclusion of any maker does not affect 99.99% of NASCAR viewers.
Good to see the Saint Andrew's cross at a NASCAR track. It's "banned" now.
Once upon a time you could be proud to be from the South without hurting the fragile feelings of most people
Good race, but some of the worst commentary I’ve ever heard in my life! Omg Sam Posey was the worst commentator in the history of sport
SPONSORED BY FORD WON BY FORD BUT FFS GET RID OF THE COMMENTATORS I MUST SAY I DO NOT LIKE SAM NASCAR COMMENTATORS ARE KEN, NED AND BENNY IF AVAILABLE!
Couldnt stand Posey, Lampley or Jack ten dollar words Arute. Posey was a bad indy/scca pilot.
@@ixlr8677 only to get his arse kicked by Earnhardt. Listening to Sam (a pocket full of) Posey snivel about that is my favorite Posey moment
Terrible commentary
Terrible announcers.
Confed flags…definitely the south
Bill Elliot was a cry baby.
1:29:30 "They use what we call joysticks..."
Jim is really impressed by this impenetrable magic
