As the main zaс toplaner, I don’t entirely agree. Zac vs. Aatrox is literally the epitome of a match of skills. They are equally strong at all stages of the game, heal equally a lot (Zac is also healed by minions), both are mobile, have great control and damage. Zac has the advantage of passive revive, but Aatrox has the advantage of being able to use Zac's q against him. In my opinion, this is one of the most interesting toplane matchups.

As a Riven main, I agree he just beats her. Riven mains say (just dodge his q's) which is such a nothing statement.

I’ve been shit on by a good riven as aatrox before but terrible rivens will never win against him, or against many other toplaners. Just a skill gap, aatrox has lower potential and easier to play while riven is hard to play with tons of potential

As riven, don't fall into the trap and play into the Aatrox pace. If he lands a couple Q's on you, just chill out. You must hold at least 2 dashes to dodge his E + 3rd Q sweet spot. The first 2 q sweetspots are not as important to dodge since if you're fighting him you should be facehugging him anyways.
It's tough matchup rn, but you should never be hit by sweet spot by aatrox as Riven.
Aatrox is hard to fight as cho, but you can win, just pick phase rush, buy bramble vest and rush sunfire and you should be fine, but you can't miss any Q
As a mundo player, I completely agree. It’s tough to be a weak early game champ with movement abilitys vs aatrox

Urgot beats aatrox from 1-3, then it becomes aatrox favored from 4 to 8, 60/40 (Urgot favored) from 9 to 13 and then Urgot outscales after 2 items
so i would not say it is an easy matchup for both champions
aatrox is better in teamfights though and he can pick and choose a fight. As urgot you are giga commited. He also sets up gank better

Your combos are usually very easy to flash away, and its hard to 100-0 someone when they still have their mobility up unless they fuck up and gets hit by your E(which can happens from fog and if you are decently fed). Still though zhonya fucks him pretty hard and with Goredrinker Sterak being so dominant its pretty hard imo to have good impact with Urgot atm. You probably can cheese alot of match ups and teamfights during lower elo though where the enemy adc or support just walks like absolute monkey or they don't respect your E range

As a Camille main in low master, aatrox isn't played as much anymore, but when he was, I would've said he's kinda easy matchup. When he engages in early you have the mobility to get away. In an all in you can dodge his 3ed q with r and you play with ignite and counter his healing. Plus bone plating is the 'new' tech to beat Aatrox. I'd agree, that it should be easy to win early Laning against her until she buys devine. You will still push her in but she will definitely outscale you.

Went against camille a couple of days ago, she didn't play. I freezed her just outside her tower, she just couln't fight or contest me at all. I got a whole item advatage just by farming better and making her lane miserable, one of the easiest games I had in weeks.
@@AristasTheMonsterHunter either he wasn't good or it's in low elo, cus you just call your jungler to break the freeze or take trades where the Aatrox is forced to trade into the wave and push it this way. But as Aatrox has very long cool downs in early, you can simply run him down with e attack speed and passive shield. If I wanted to play it save though, wait until you have first item armor boots and ignite, do short trades and it's not that hard to do. I started to go conq flash ignite into Trinity against Aatrox, just to dominate the early.
But I'm sure I lost to Aatrox before. If you don't know the cool downs it is very hard to trade into
i play both rengar and aatrox top side. I know this is a skill matchup and is not easy for both sides as if both are playing well it all comes down to a single mistake

Maokai would be in the win lane -lose game teir. I've played the match-up many times from both prospectives, he can't kill aatrox but he's more useful in team fights
He is a better scaling Malphite imo.
I think Maokai needs more items than Malphite, but he scales so much harder.
I also think from my emerald tier experience, because maokai is so weak early, I can usually beat him enough to not give him time to scale.
I believe that the only champs that are missing are Varus (when he was played on top), Naafiri and Briar and I will say that against Varus is probably a easy lane/Can beat because he doesn't have mobility and Varus Q can be canceled by Aatrox Q
Varus scales mid-late game and also has antiheal on his E but yeah Aatrox beats any adc in 1v1
I believe graves, hecarim (he used to be played more), ahri (with the ad tri force build), Jarvan, Lee Sin, Lissandra, Lillia, Lucian, Rammus, Viego, Victor and maybe Zed could all be added to tier list in the not enough players. Maybe graves and Rammus could be in other categories.

I permaban lilia then all the matchups that get on you and auto like yone tryn i struggle with. Sett with attack speed is annoying. I agree though what happens outside of lane seems to matter more rn. They need to nerf drags im tired of jg gap deciding games when I cant tp.
idc how strong the champs are themselves but the impact that role has on the game is vile. They are easy to kill even when they gank but when one jg gets every obj and my jgs sprinting it the game is literally unplayable.
Wouldn't completely trust naayil's tier list on match up generally. Since most match ups aren't considered on how punishing it is or cheesy some picks are paired with LT.
Idk how he beats Rumble reliably. Im pretty sure its one of those impossible to win match up. The only way you win that is with an early jungle gank that also fucks up rumble wave to even remotely have a chance to stay relevant vs him. The Shy played this match up vs Bin and completely dumspter Bin Aatrox even when theshy lost flash early on and had to get an early recall. The only time i see Aatrox win that is when Zeus gets an early gank by Oner and 369 waves gets absolutely fucked and he has no TP to comeback to the lane as well, making him losing shit tons of XP and gets an item advantage almost an entire game

darius otp hovering between masters and low gm, with how the meta is right now you definitely outscale aatrox, the 1v1 will always scale in Darius's favor and in any darius matchup right now where you win the 1v1 late and the enemy isnt a tank/utility champion, you outscale them in bruiser hullbreaker meta since you do more than any other top lane carry champion that isnt a hyper scaler in teamfights when you have sums up, and when sums are down you just split and force 2+ on you
I still think the matchup is favored towards aatrox but its purely because in a world where neither player makes a mistake aatrox completely takes over the lane 10/10 times, its one of those matchups where in reality darius actually wins lane most of the time but its because you capatalized on a mistake by aatrox at one point, aatrox definitely has the tools to win lane though and once devs make lane actually matter again theres nothing a darius can do when behind against a different carry/bruiser
also a lot of high elo top mains still have a very old mentality about darius that he's purely a lane bully and after lane he's terrible, which could not be further from the truth anymore, every season riot indirectly makes darius's lane worse and his scaling better by not power creeping darius beyond introducing items that synergize better and better with the guy. Force of nature, hull breaker, stride, a steraks that gives real ad instead of base ad, they all make darius way way better than he used to be but obviously he needs to actually have the items first. Biggest example of this was during the dash stride meta where their solution before getting rid of the dash was to just nerf darius's laning phase into oblivion so most top laners straight up won lane against him but he outscaled once he got stride. The only modern meta's where darius still scales like dogshit is complete teamfight metas where after laning phase is a constant aram so darius cant split push when his sums are down and thus is only useful every 5 minutes but the meta is almost never like that

This is the perfct tier list to illustrate everything wrong with the game. It's a shit load of hyper mobile high damage champs trading lane matchups with each other and then 2/3 of the roster with no counterplay to the OP tier, and the OP tier are getting perma buffed because they are struggling with some of their matchups while the majority of the top lane roster are actually unplayable into almost all of them.
Basically, matchups are being skewed for designers and it creates this negative feedback loop because champs like Riven are being percieved and skillful because most of their lanes by total games played are skill matchups, where most of their actual potential lanes are faceroll unlosable 1v9 angles, so overpowered champs are getting buffed and it's just further locking most of the champs in the game out of viability, and this portion of high damage hyper mobile meta slave champs are basically splitting into a whole new balance tier where they're balanced against each other not how strong they actually are. Like if you ever play Gwen into the majority of the champs in top lane you'll just free win win lane win shove ungankable outscale can dodge all poke + win every trade even missing most of your abilities to the point that after 1 item you don't even take damage in some matchups, but the fact that she's into Aatrox, Jax, Riven, Yone, Garen and Fiora more than basically the entire rest of the roster combined means that devs think she's fair to play against. Same with Fiora but a little different as there is a small window where most champs get to play the game vs her. 2/3 of her possible matchups she wins but most of her games are against meta golems.

As a Sejuani player, I can proclaim that Sejuani is a very easy matchup for Aatrox. Basically he is one of her hardest counters and all she can do in lane - set up ganks for her jungler. She looses any trades unless Aatrox messes up hard

no she isn't lmao. you either get ahead and stay ahead or you fucking suck. if you fall behind, you're weak. literally ever other skirmisher in the game outscales Riven. Juggernauts and Divers scale just as well as her - some even better. She has no inbuilt armor pen or mixed damage or true damage or inbuilt crit or anything. it's just flat ad damage. she doesn't scale particularly well.
As a Vladimir main, the scaling in early is so much important and only farming instead of chasing for kills that are not free, so it’s like an auto win for aatrox if he wants to fight, but Laayte game its auto win for Vladimir

Kled no scaling? He is great late game and his damages scale through the sky. His Q alone has 195% AD scaling with 390 base damage on lvl 9. How it goes is Kled win hard lvl 1 and 2, then lose 3-9, but by 2 items, Aa is a damned joke. I am a Kled player, every single times I make it to 2 items on Kled, Aa can no longer play, the moment he shows in sidelane, he dies.
This is different if Kled does not go full damages, that is true, but chad Kled go for the big damages.

Where is Graves? Theshy won against Bin in semifinals as graves against Aatrox.

As a diamond Sion main, most Aatrox players think that it's gonna be a free win and they eventually die trying to dive me and just aren't able to recover from that, until the late game.
no0 thinks that, sion is just stupid meatball that you can't kill quickly (so he can kill you too) and he will still scale bcs funny passive (i inted? no panic on titanic, me revive me clear almost full wave. enemy toplaner tries to kill me after me revive? i will kill him, no problemo!)

Ain't no way thats true. Aatrox vs Renekton is one of the OG match up that every pros learn how to play. Its a skill match up that nobody has a clear advantage over. Also both never dies in lane so it barely ever mattered in the end. Aatrox however has alot more neutral match up where he can atleast try to go even where as renekton has alot more losing match up like Rumble hard stomp him.

Darius outscales Aatrox, just facts. His damage is very low to all in Darius in late, and Darius Ult has 1400 true dmg at that point. Not to mention he reaches 600+ AD at lvl 18. Of course, im talking about a good Darius, the average Darius is just shit and the most counterable champion in the game

high elo game not as long so darius rarely get level 16 in master+. he either just epic bush ghost cheese kill you 100 times in lane or he doesnt snowball and aatrox spikes harder than him and is more useful for team in mid game (unless its like really good game for darius when ur team has terrible draft of 4 melees he can just perma get stacks from)

Any champion can outplay aatrox and aatrox can also do the same to them. Thats the beauty of the champion imo and its pretty fair. Yone however as long as he gets 2 item with hullbreaker he wins pretty much every 1-1, unmatched on sides while being pretty safe as well
