    I just had to comment on this. I’ve been looking and thinking about getting a boat, trying to talk the wife into it. Been looking at the Cat30’s good bargain. We both hate all the dark 70’s/80’s wood look inside. You sir, have done the trick. Nice balance between modern and classic. Just enough wood accent to keep it nautical. Well done both of you.

      Thanks we didn't like the old dark wood look either! Thank you for watching our video and commenting

    Love what you have done with her, she looks good.
    And it's awesome that the two of you can give each other shit and keep it light and not get offended. Really enjoying your channel!

    I definitely agree with your use of space. Boat builders will boast "sleeps 6 and dining space for 8." I don't think many buy a 30ft sailboat to host parties. Plus the boat has one head.
    I wouldn't want to bring friends and family out for more than a daysail.

    Boat interior finishing trends go back and forth- sometimes the rich warm wood look ( like the inside of a cigar box) is in, other times all white and easy to clean like the inside of a white plastic tub. I think you now have a nice combination. Look forward to sailing video.
    Be careful how/when you lock up the gimbaled stove- if locked and you get waked in an anchorage with pot full of boiling water- .....well not good.
    Having something to hold those Ikea drawers in while underway is necessary- cleaning up a tomato that went "splat" on cabin rug will not be fun. Netting may work, I'd look for something attached to the cross braces above or below each drawer, that swings down/up and detent locks to prevent drawer from opening ( something like old fashioned window sash lock). Also make sure the whole drawer unit is secure (if not already) to base and back so it doesn't tip over- lots of things going "splat".

      Thanks and I’ve been thinking of what to do about the shelves the unit is bolted down. Thanks for the window sash lock idea I’m going to do something like that I hadn’t thought of that one.

    Would you mind sharing what grit sand paper, primer and paint you used. I again sure like the looks.

    • @SAILINGCHAOS-1
      @SAILINGCHAOS-1  Před rokem

      180 and 220 grit I used kilz water based primer and the an exterior semi gloss paint

    • @SAILINGCHAOS-1
      @SAILINGCHAOS-1  Před rokem

      Just make sure what ever primer you use is a muti surface primer whether it be oil base or water based. Also let them dry well before re paying with the exterior paint. It’s been a couple of months now and we are still very pleased with the durability and look. Thanks for watching our videos and we appreciate the compliment

    Looks great, but I can’t believe y’all painted over the teak bulkhead!!! 😮 That’s sacrilegious. Probably would’ve worked just fine if you hadn’t painted over the teak bulkhead. 🫢
