    in this video lecture i have explain about IGBT/MOSFET gate Drive resistor that is Turn ON and Turn OFF resistor selection,
    what will happen if you not take acre about gate resistance. how it will affect the performance of switch.

    Greetings. This is my case. I've been trying to bulid an off line flyback converter using uc3842, 160vdc imput and 15 vdc, 10A output and an IRFP450 mosfet. But gate resistor is giving deep trouble. I've made a lot of calculations based on many tutorials and I've tried several values but the mosfet does not work good though.

      @@scienceinnovativebrain Mainly it heat up even without load and the output voltage drops dramatically with load as little as 500 mili amperes and also the mosfet vibrates in a way that I hear it, this in the presence of very little load.

      Primary and secondary inductance
      And primary side leakage inductance?

      @@scienceinnovativebrain I wound the transformer based on the calculations results using a software I downloaded, frquency is 40 Khz, but I've tried using 20 KHz, 30KHz, 25 Khz and so on.

    Also how do we check with multimeter if igbt is switching. Also in igbt welding mc sg3525 pin 11 and 14 are 0v dc wrt fan gnd. And pin 9 and 10 shut down pin are also 0 v .Vcc pin 13 qnd 15 are 15 v dc. So can I conclude the pwm ic is faulty. The power supply Lnk626 ic video was easy to understand and useful. Thank you.

      @@scienceinnovativebrain Sir the pwm ic pin 11 and 14 are 0volt so is the Ic faulty or is there any shut down protection mechanism. Pin 9 and 10 are 0 volt. Also how do we check by multimeter or frequency meter if the Igbt is getting gate drive pulse

      @@gerwindsouza2485 pin 10 put at ground but pin 9 should not be at ground it should connected with some small capacitor and other terminal of capacitor connected with ground pin 8 also connected with some capacitor o.1uf other wise interlock will come and pwn output will not come
      You can check PWm output some pulsating fluctuation you will get means PWm is coming

      Thank you Sir for your reply. Only mentioned what voltages I am getting at pwm ic 3525 pins. No output from pins11 and 14 to 4688 driver ic. Will I get pwm gate drive pulse on gate of igbt with 24 v fan ground as reference. With multimeter in dc mode?. How to check gate drive pulse with multimeter.

      @@gerwindsouza2485 you can not measure PWm with Multimeter but you can get idea PWm is coming or not and check PWm with sg3525 ic pin 12 as reference to pin 11and 14 if pin 12 of ic is connected with 24 volt fan ground then you can check other wise no
