Yeah I was checking them out. Definitely on my shopping list. Another cool thing I tried once was a Boss volume pedal on my fretless bass. Wow it was fun! A bit tricky getting the hang of it but it creates almost like a cello or violin sound especially playing chords. I suppose it’s a step up from what was called “violining “ just using the volume control but I struggled because my hands are small. But yeah amazing sound. Reminds me of Jewish violin or Middle Eastern violin. ✨♥️

A thing I love about your bass playing is that you are not merely piddling around on an ego trip like so many, instead you are playing beautiful pieces of music not to impress just for the sake of it but because you are incredibly gifted you are creative and you have taken bass guitar playing to a whole new level. Bass is a wonderful instrument whether it’s simply playing straight eights and playing it well with the drums and band or really doing something unusual and different. It’s a great instrument and not to be underestimated. Loving your bass playing. Such beautiful pieces of music and played with such precision and more than anything you can feel every note! Downloaded (purchased) the album and have listened to it every day (no joke) since I did and that was on July 29th (2 months ago). It is the most mesmerizing bass I have ever heard (and I play a fretless bass). Reminds me a little of Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois, but it goes beyond them. (Understand that "beyond" is not comparatively better or worse, just a style that is so unique.)
There is a lot of gimmickry on bass guitar. A lot of exploration of what can be done on a bass by expanding technique. I have heard so much and have gotten tired with, what is sometimes amazing, but outside the role of bass that I love the most. The E Bow is exceptional, and this video by JRP is not just another "exciting" show off. It is a beautiful piece of music that exists as a haunting emotion, and is then translated through the music. It takes me to my soul. That's why I play bass. I ordered an E Bow today because of the video. I hope to find my own soulful magic. Thanks JRP!!

Though E-Bows are made predominantly for lead & rhythm guitarists i find that they always add a middle eastern sound & ive always enjoyed the music coming out of these coiuntrys & that an E-bow on a Fretless Bass Guitar can deliver such amazing sounds but i think its time to make certain models for such bassist that would like to play them without having to buy 2 & stack 1 on top of the other...
The truly first time i saw a bassist use E-Bows was Bassist Michael Manring & though i had heard these sounds before , i couldn't place exactly what he or any bassist was using until i watched him play at Bass Day 1998
Needless to say , though it took some time , i managed to buy his full performance from Bass Day 98 & i also bought his instructional DVD that showed his Bass Day 1998 performance but it did take some time for it to get transferred from VHS Or Betamax Tapes , i wasnt keen of buying anything released for VCRs as those VCR Video Cassette Tapes were too prone to getting eaten up inside those VCR Units & i decided to wait until , hopefully , a better way of watching them could be released...
Laser Disc Players came out long before DVDs but they only sold movies & i never found any instrument informative discs coming put for them , but i did see the huge difference in the visual & sound departments & , again , it was a case of just waiting until a format came out that could deliver movies/specific solo acts & bands playing live concerts & instructional DVDs & as everyone knows we saw this happen with DVDs/Blu Ray & 4K Versions of specific movies , but for now DVD is still the first choice format & that has seen many instructional material only released on DVD but at least we can get a better bigget library of various movies/live concerts & instructional instruments material on DVD & many of those that were released on VHS Or Betamax Tapes has received a DVD makeover & that we can get access to various instrument based DVDs also...
, along with showing his various styles & how he played bass guitars a little more different than other mainstream bassists & being a pupil & friend of Jaco Pastorious must have had a huge positive time for him , only for Jaco to finally die because of drunken argument from a Bar he drank in & this must've been one of the most negative periods for Michael but he did continue on & created his own voice on the bass guitar & the sound he got from those 2 stacked E-Bows was the very thing that could be a gateway into creating these exotic middle eastern sounds that for me came across from the use of those E-Bows & though you can use 2 Stacked E-Bows it would be nice to see them also built for a Fretless Bass Guitar...
Though i do remember Michael used his titled at an angle & maybe this could be the reason that it would be better to just use the 2 Stacked E-Bows , but IF thats the case then why stack another E-Bow ontop of another E-Bow IF there's no way to use the top E-Bow also?!
I love the sound they drliver but i find it odd that in this dsy an age a bassist needs to stack 2 together & IF the upper E-Bow does also work then Why dont they release an E-Bow thatll see 1 being made to cover those all those 4 strings , unless theres some sort of limitations to using 2 on a bass guitar , but im reminded , yet again , that IF they have no use for the E & A Strings then Why even bother to use 2!..
If someone can reply as to IF the upper E-Bow can be used , then id appreciate it , as though im just a lover of bass guitars & the sounds they can make , I've always found it odd as to Why bassists , who use them , would stack 2 together IF you can only get use 1 at a time & theres git to be a reasons that bassists that ive seen use E-Bows always play with 2 Stacked E-Bows IF only 1 can give the user access to those higher pitched D & G Strings...
Again , im interested in knowing IF 2 E-Bows stacked are worth buying 2 thatll see them cover those 4 string bass guitars but then again many bassists might want these E-Bows also made to play on a 5 & 6 String Bass Guitars , as they have become more popular than in previous decades & many use a 5 or 6 string bass guitar as they are now their main instrument to play on...
Hopefully someone will see this & will be able to inform me IF there is a bigger market for 2 stacked E-Bows or IF its best to keep them as they were original made for & thats lead guitars & it would be a pity IF more arent sold that are marketed towards bass guitars also , by making 1 that'll work on 4 Strings without putting 1 E-Bow ontop of another...
