Hidden inflammation is at the root of all chronic illness-conditions like heart disease, obesity, diabetes, dementia, depression, cancer, and even autism. So if inflammation is at the root of most modern diseases, how do we find the causes and get the body back in balance? First, we need to identify the triggers and causes of inflammation. Then we need to help reset the body’s natural immune balance by providing the right conditions for it to thrive.
In today’s episode of my series I’m calling Health Bites, I am talking about inflammation, how it’s linked to everything from obesity to all of the chronic diseases of aging, and how to combat it.
This episode is brought to you by Rupa Health and Athletic Greens.
Rupa Health is a place where Functional Medicine practitioners can access more than 2,000 specialty lab tests from over 20 labs like DUTCH, Vibrant America, Genova, and Great Plains. You can check out a free, live demo with a Q&A or create an account at RupaHealth.com.

Never happen. Too many billions of dollars involved. That's why the entire system in which we live is utterly corrupt. No one could guarantee that if we were in a position of power and wealth we wouldn't become corrupt as well. Remember what Lord John Acton observed? "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely." Same with wealth.

After my mom and grandpa died, I lost a lot and ate bad for over a year now everything bad I eat I seem to get bloat and inflammation . Lately I'm really suffering and I decided to fight back and do a water fast, and eat fruits in the morning and in the evening eat vegetables & whole chicken. I had to cut off Pringles because instantly heartburn, and bloat. I know my mom wouldn't want me to give up on myself so I'm fighting to stay alive for her also I strated going to the gym. Thank you for this video love very informative, and true.

You can feel better. The mourning process takes time but stifling pain w food is giving yourself more anguish in the long run. I gained 35 pounds in 2020 when my dad passed. I finally lost it in 2 months in the fall of 2023. I had had enough! Intermittent fasting w low carbs and no sugar. One meal a day and eat til ur full! Threw a couple 72 hr fasts at it as well with electrolytes so I didn’t feel dizzy. The weight is still off and I reversed what I presume was insulin resistance. I walk daily briskly. 6 km. I wish u well and feel ur anguish. You can feel better and I know u will… cus ur strong!!!❤️❤️❤️

AMEN!!! I'm a nutritionist. I went looking for videos explaining how arteries get damaged to show people... but you know all I found was people blaming cholesterol! It's like blaming an ambulance for the accident or blaming the plaster/bandaid for the cut! It's SUGAR that damages the arterial walls & your body spackles the damage with cholesterol to prevent anything coming into contact with the interior membrane. Your video is an actual explanation for how this damage occurs & how to help your body stay healthy by avoiding the damage in the first place. Thank you for promoting the TRUTH!

@@Rollwithit699 Wheat is inflammatory as it is because it has been hybridized to increase yields. But the use of Roundup weed killer on it only adds to the problem. I avoid it and other gluten grain foods. Doing my best to avoid MSG, artificial food dyes, and sugar & corn syrups too. I do use a bit of honey and also stevia in foods and beverages. YES! food sensitivities are HUGE. One of the very first thing I do is have people do an elimination diet for 6 weeks to remove possible intolerances & allergens. I did this myself 3 months ago & got some very surprising results. There were many things in trace amounts in my diet that were keeping me full of chronic inflammation, retained fluids, stiffness and pain. In my first 4 weeks after removing all irritants I lost over 14 pounds! Even now, I am steadily shedding extra weight and dropping inches like crazy. I literally feel like I have the clock running backwards. Every day I feel better, move better, healing & recovering faster... with how I feel now, I can't understand why anyone would ever want to go back to how they were living before. This is my life now & I'm going to live this as my way of life.

I haven't had a carbonated sweet drink in over 10 years. I just got sick and tired of always having bubbles in my mouth. Now, I drink water w/electrolytes or green tea or bullet proof coffee. No Diabetes water for me. I gave up all grains, all dairy, all seed oils and cut out 99.9% of sugar and lost 82 lbs. in the last 18 months. What made me do it, I walked around the mall, K-Mart, Target and I noticed that it seemed like EVERYBODY was OBESE. I had to do something, as I suffered with hypertension (High Blood Pressure) for over 20 years. Now after the weight loss. No more high blood pressure, no more insulin resistance. I'm 71 and don't look a day over 59. It's just sad that people have so little will power, they'll let they're mouth's kill them.

Then went Keto and that got rid of most of the crap, but was getting into artificial sweeteners. Onto low carb foods, veg etc, with grass fed meat and dark fish, and finally got to a point where most of the bad stuff is gone, still indulge a small amount and exercise each day.

I hope this will help you I’ve had problems with allergies and sinus infections I never got psoriasis or acne, but I’m telling you the truth I went to a lot of stuff my whole life ahead every time I got off of taking my Extra-virgin cod liver oil, I could tell I am getting a head cold runny nose my eyes are burning and watery right this minute I’ve always ready taking a Benadryl and use my nose spray it doesn’t work and I even have a very expensive air purifier I paid over $600 for to help me with my allergies, well I had to clean one of the filters the other day so it really cause my allergies to act up it’s a very good air purifier but the filter was dirty that’s washable I didn’t feel like washing it so I kept running it with it like that with the warning light on, I won’t do that again anyway I haven’t had cod liver oil for over six months or any omega-3‘s, my son when he was a teenager had psoriasis real bad on his back and he would scratch it it bled would come to his white T-shirts from him scratching it I started giving him cod liver oil the extra virgin kite is kind of expensive but it’s worth it believe me the money I spend in Benadryl and the nose spray cost more than the cod liver oil and it’s extra-virgin Call Oil so it’s cold pressed like they do olive oil, probably what you’re lacking is omega-3‘s in your body I know it sounds too simple but it cleared my sons back up and he was so happy because he was a teenager and was too embarrassed to take his shirt off in the hot summer in Arizona because of that problem, also vitamin D3, and K 2-7 complex that helps absorb the vitamin D three I think if you get some omega-3‘s and the vitamin D3 cause you’re probably low in it I’m out of cod liver oil again and I’m having allergy problems really bad and my eyes are ready I think I said that already anyway I can’t wait to buy my cod liver oil instead of buy Benadryl and use a nose spray this just seems to be making it worse I’m sure I get psoriasis if I let it keep going, the extra virgin cod liver oil also helps with wrinkles and you’ll get baby soft skin I could not believe it my skin actually shed like a snake on my legs I’m 68 now and my legs look like I am 18 years old again, I don’t hardly have any wrinkles just my 11 marks from asking myself what the heck is going on here I’ve been doing that since I was a child because I couldn’t figure out why people acted the way they did so I had them 11 marks and I was in my 20s but it helps smooth them out too no joke I am very serious and tea like Matcha tea green tea, gunpowder tea I know that sounds weird it’s a black tea but it has a lot of polyphenols in it there’s other tees that are higher than polyphenols and olive oil, I hope some of this helps you I’ll be 70 in a few years myself
I really want to be healthy God bless you I was trying to think the name of the color royal because I have to get some myself, but on CZcams you might be able to find it I think that’s where I found out about extra-virgin cod liver oil from Norway or it cost around $49, but I spent more than that on allergy medicine a month and it doesn’t help my wrinkles and it still doesn’t really help my allergies either and I’m telling you the truth I had a couple of brown spots on my face and I had them on my hands they are all gone and I know it’s cod liver oil it also helps with depression, my great grandma and my grandmother and my mother made sure we took cod liver oil every day it has natural occurring vitamin D three, it has some K in it of course omega threes it has retinol Yep like what people put on their face for wrinkles it’s like getting rid of your wrinkles from the inside out that’s what my grandma always said, it’s a natural sunscreen it has loads of vitamin a beta carotene, if there was only one supplement I could buy it would be extra-virgin olive oil I know I probably sound like an infomercial but I care about people and I want you to feel good we need to all help each other especially as we get older, these years we need to enjoy and not worry about things, but our food today you know how messed up it is I’m not even too sure on organics, I had to give up my bread my bagels I can’t even eat any cheese without getting allergy problems and mucus every time I do this stuff here comes my allergies again I can’t eat anything with wheat in it or gluten I guess but I care about you and I know God loves you and he doesn’t wanna see you suffer I really wish I could remember the name of the color royal now but as you see I can’t remember is good because it helps your brain it’s good fats and our brain is full of fat good fats that’s why we need cholesterol and we need good fats I guarantee it it will help you I guess you should ask your doctor I’m not an expert I’m just telling you about my life and I used to have asthma real bad, but you will have to take it at least once a day, especially in the beginning I also take the D3 and the K complex that helps it absorb I get garden of life omega code supplements, but my extra-virgin cod liver oil is from some other company, I truly hope this helps you it helps with your eyesight too I used to have 1515 vision, and six months is gone by without my extra virgin Kylie Ruel and my eyesight is getting blurry I’m gonna have to go to the eye doctor for the first time in my life but I have a feeling when I get my extra virgin color royale start taking it in my D3 which I was low in my blood work up this time, no matter where you live you’re going to be low on vitamin D three if you don’t supplement it because my son that lives in Arizona he still takes extra virgin color royal vitamin D3 and vitamin K complex he doesn’t want the psoriasis
He moved to Arizona because of his breathing, he never was diagnosed with asthma but I’m sure living in Missouri you have all kinds of allergies I miss my son but I’m happy that he moved there because he loves it and he feels healthier, never know maybe I’ll move there someday God bless you I didn’t want to even put another comment on here that I believe the Lord wanted me to and I’m using a magnifying glass which I’m not supposed to be doing to be able to do this comment I’m on my iPhone and I know I shouldn’t be doing this but I believe the Lord to protect my eyes because I’m trying to help you I really do care a lot about people I used to own a health food store I called it the tree of life so I’ve done a lot of studying I move by health food store when I was 20 years old and the lady let me read all of her books from the pioneers of holistic medicine like Adam Dell Davis Linus Pauling he’s the one who discovered vitamin C complex everything in complex like B complex when you just take one of the B vitamins like B12 which I know a lot of people do that and get it from their doctor shots I try that everything this prescription is a GMO it is that synthetic so our body does not absorb it like from the natural forms, I tell you it’ll keep you out of the hospital if you read my other comments I tell the story of when I was in the ICU for three months with the virus and a broken right arm I have been without color royale for six months but my arm fused back together again because I had Covid, and I hadn’t been sick since I was 13 years old never spent a night in the hospital except my three children it’s birth, OK I better quit staring through this thing I go to the eye doctor in a few days, but I know my eye problem a lot of it is because I don’t have the supplements I was taking, I’ve learned a big lesson, you can’t afford not to get the supplement because you’re not going to get it all from food and I don’t like to use credit cards but I will not to suffer with all this allergy problems like I’m having right now and my bones ache you see this also helps with arthritis and I have congenital scoliosis that means I was born with it and my spine is in the shape of a S so I need that to make sure the calcium gets in my bones and not my blood Well I need to get off here I just keep thinking of things that might help you. Again God bless you and help you

Dawn dish liquid and other soaps are responsible for damaging your gut also. I got rid of 38 years of chronic eczema and psoriasis. It kills bugs in the garden and breaks down grease but breaks down the mucus membranes in skin and guts too.

@Earth Yes I got it a couple weeks ago. Slightly feel better overall, reduction of psoriasis, allergies... only slightly. I have used this brand years ago and have confidence in it a la WestonAPriceFounation. I think my quantity of fruit is too high and big part of problem, but its an emotional thing to have carbs/sweet. I'm pretty sure minimizing sugar (in fruit levels) would help a lot.

@Earth I've picked up an emotional attachment to Watermelon. This summer due C19 virus, hadn't eaten a thing for week, coming out of that fast I had watermelon it was like Heaven. What a way to get your hydration! I've had watermelon almost every day since August. If I don't have it I'll eat fresh apples, pineapples, diced in some plain yogurt... I've had less healthy addictions.

I wish this video had a ❤️ button! The deniers of functional medicine are absolutely insane. I have suffered from chronic papulopustular rosacea for nearly 10 years. It was brought on by a divorce and this is what I said to my GP (who claims to be a skin expert) at the time. They said nothing of the emotional triggers and simply said 'It looks like rosacea. It can start in your early 30's. There is no cure. Here are some antibiotics." She knew absolutely NOTHING and simply stripped my gut of any goodness that was left in it. This kind of 'advice' needs to be stopped immediately. The last decade has been a hell, it really has. Imagine the difference if I'd spoken to Mark that day instead......

Have 1 avocado daily, have extra virgin olive oil preferably from Greece and drizzle it on everything. Have cod liver oil daily. Your inflammation in your body will go down!! If you want to add mushrooms 🍄 such as turkey tail and reishi those are great too.
