- Witnesses told investigators they heard gunshots early in the morning and a message coming from an RV parked in the street warning anyone in the area to evacuate. Officers said they are looking into these reports.

@@BrassStacks If you watch and listen to the officers, she said she was awakened by gunshots and looked out the window. The officers walked the entire length of the block and were just speaking calmly and there was no gunshots before the explosion took place. There was nothing on their radios that said there were shots that they needed to respond to.... They walked right pass the vehicle RV and also listen closely to what the vehicle recording(if it was a recording and not just remote speaker). It did not say there was a bomb. Just sounds fishy as if to just get on the news to distract or send a message to someone....

I'm not going to go listen to them both again right now, but my initial thoughts are that I believe she said she had heard the shots and the recording long before the explosion. If I remember correctly (which admittedly I have a lot on my mind and may not) I believe she stated that they left the area and had traveled about 30 minutes before the explosion. If that's the case, the police recordings are not long enough to cover everything she may have heard.

To be fair, it’s kind of his job. I agree that he should have let her tell her story first and ask questions about the incident once she was finished.
As far as reporting and interviewing a witness, this is a great example. I appreciate that the witness was quite articulate.

Great witness. This really shows how when people experience crazy events, their eyes and ears are
taking in sooooooo much information and stimuli add emotion and the mind focuses on fight or flight. It's afterwards and the debrief when you see just how much went on. The questioning of herself is great. You can hear the bells going off in her head.

Oddly, most people hear something suspicious and then ignore it. So a burglar can break a window and wait, and a homeowner waking up listens, doesn’t hear a second noise, so they go back to sleep. Most people just do not pay attention to ONE suspicious sound or sight. When you hear something suspicious, please pay attention.
Yep minute but minute, the 80th announcement must of really sold her it was real. I mean those crazy gun shots in a area of the city where crime doesn’t happen. Let alone making a call to the police telling them about the gun shots and bomb threats, and then hopefully the cops telling you not to ignore it. But she leaves then drives back? Her story is kinda strange.
