So far, that has been my experience! The truck is still as susceptible as any other truck/car, but the camper is made from two solid pieces and has yet to fail or provide spots for them to wiggle in :)

I did grain free for years and now two of my dogs have heart murmurs. I didn't understand that it's actually the peas and pea meal that they think may be the issue, so I'd suggest not feeding any grain free that use peas as a base. I found a holistic vet here in Oregon that gave me great recipes for making my own raw food. He convinced me that dogs' stomachs are more than capable of processing normal levels of bacteria so it's not really an issue to worry about. Raw eggs (organic and pasture raised) are also totally fine. So idk the answers, but I do feel better after 7 months and feel like my raw food is no more dangerous than kibble with all the recalls and inadequate supplements, etc. They are doing great on it, too-coats look great and energy levels for the senior dogs have gone up. One other thing-if you stick with kibble (and I totally understand it) add a good quality supplement in addition to water and egg :) You can also add some canned sardines a few times a week for omegas.

Not only your truck and camper, if your truck breaks down, either you can fix it or replace it without losing your own home, the camper. The camper can fit any truck bed universally. And you can "park" your camper anywhere you are allowed to , like a friend's house or free camping sites, to get your truck fixed or needing to pick up large amount of firewood.

As someone who hasn't started RV/Vanlife yet but plan to in the near future, hearing your experiences was incredibly helpful!
I plan to look for a used Class C or similar. I want something self-contained but still large enough where I can still work indoors whenever necessary/possible. I currently work remotely and plan to continue to do so. I love the convenience and flexibility of it.
I plan to transition to RV/Vanlife due to the insane rental increases spreading across all states and has recently struck my current location. I'm 57, ten years from retirement age but I plan to continue to work as long as I can. I've been struggling with being cooped up in an apartment where I can't go anywhere, my view never changes and I just keep dumping rent money into something that isn't "mine."
There have been so many new advances and improvements for nomadic life as in products and "gadgets" that really will make my transtion a fairly easy one, I believe.

Love to hear a simple breakdown of a solar/electrical system and an explanation of why its setup the way you have. I have a very similar setup in my Transit over here in the UK, and Renogy too. It's a very capable setup and the series-parallel panels can deliver in all different condition.

Thanks for sharing. I like the hard food for my pets because I believe it’s good for their teeth. Regarding the hot sauce, I wonder if it was old? It seems like that ghost pepper should have been pretty hot. We grow our own peppers and even the banana peppers can be pretty hot some years.

Many years ago my husband and i bought a 1951 school bus. Converted it over to a rv and lived in it. It was the best time of my life. If i was alot younger i would do it again without hesitation. Just be safe. Glad you have a dog.

I've heard that if you soak kibble in water then it can increase the chance of bloat.
Oh, so good to know! I will look into that :) I am really careful about her movement/exercise around mealtime with bloating and stomach flip issues for retrievers, but its always better to be safe than sorry!

But He created human beings to be fruitful n multiply the earth.. same sex cannot do that. God is about multiplication.. and we are created in His image.. spirit first.. then flesh.. God is Spirit .. JESUS walked in flesh but was fully God and fully man.. but created in His image.. God is not double minded, confused or UN clean. He is Holy. So when we are born again we are a new creation.. no longer wanting to fulfill the lust of the flesh or desire the things of this world.. our hearts, minds n spirits are on things above.. and wanting to live a life surrendered to Him is our goal.. and living a righteous life .. pleasing God, not man. It’s not an easy walk.. but in the end.. Heaven for all eternity is our great reward. JESUS hates the sin but loves the sinner. This world is not our home.. it’s temporary.. but you must decide whom will you serve while you are here. Being a “ good person” is not enough cuz then we think we are doing it on our own. When He is your Lord.. you let Him direct your path. And you learn to die to the flesh.. the flesh must “ die” to self because we must learn to walk in the spirit.. and we can only do that by being filled ( baptized) in His Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our teacher, comforter and shows us all things to come..
He is the power that raised Jesus from the dead.. and He comes to live in all believers but not all believers have the baptism of His power.. that is a second “ birth”. That is being filled and overflowing so others can also be blessed.. these signs shall follow.. Mark 16:17-18✝️ No other man made religions have the baptism of the Holy Spirit.. so no other religions are born again and changed into spirit to be able to enter Heaven. No flesh will enter Heaven. Anyways.. God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are not gay.. they did not create a gay person.. they created man n woman to be a family n multiply the earth.. SATAN is the Father of Lies.. he hates God and hates families.. his plan is to stop the multiplication first of followers of Christ.. secondly to pervert mankind and to keep ppl blinded from Truth.. I have ex gay friends who have been set free by Jesus. And now serve Him and share their testimony with many. There’s about to be a great awakening of truth on this earth n especially in the LGBTQ community. I have 2 gay nieces and the Lord has promised me they will be set free. Most are wounded through abuse, physical and sexual and trauma. And then a spirit of perversion enters.. or hatred of the opposite sex can come in also. In the words of Jesus while addressing the religious elite and using the prophet Hosea, “But if you had known what this means, I desire compassion (mercy), rather than sacrifice’ you would not have condemned the innocent.” In the New Testament we find these words. “If I speak with tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal…” When I consider the mercy I have received from God through Jesus I cannot help but give mercy to others. I don’t have to agree with the life choices of others, but I cannot help but to give love and mercy them. This is only meant as food for thought and not to escalate any unnecessary debate. I don’t usually post on these types of posts, but our pastor touched on 1 Corinthians 13 this morning and this feed came to my mind.

I’m commenting before the video is over so you may have answered this , but how do you carry this in a 1/2 ton truck? Air bags?
I’m running an 8.6” long truck camper that we recently rebuilt. I’m hauling it with a 2008 GMC Sierra 2500HD. It is overweight with water, dogs, and people by a few hundred pounds so we added bags.
Really depends on the particular camper. Some can be very light
My camper is approx. 1000 pounds dry, and wet in around 1500! I upgraded my lead springs and shocks, and just this past week got airbags to help provide even more support for days with additional passengers or gear :) it’s not perfect, but the truck has been handling it really well!

@@SheRoamsWild just make sure you prematurely keep fresh tires on it. I dont quite have OTR trucker miles behind me ..
BUT alot of travel. A top heavy rig can tip right over if you blow a tire. I have seen some CRAZY things out there on the road. All the other upgrades make it safer, but IF you lose a tire at nearly ANY speed your gonna have a handful. I even go as far as putting custom steel rims in the largest diameter possible(20" or 19.5") do as to have less "sidewall" height to get a rig" closer to the ground in case OF a blow out. My buddy lost a Quigley van when a large sidewall 16" tire blew on his daughter, she tipped it and totaled it, not even moving very fast. She was fine. FYI

I think having a pet helps a lot with the loneliness. It's not the same as having a friend/partner of course, but, I feel like you're not really alone for most of the journey with a cat/dog/etc... keeping you company.
When I start solo road tripping/car camping, I'll be without any pets, so I'm hoping it goes well.

I think living on the road short term is fine for most people but not long term .
I just subscribed found you through Maddie channel your rights a winch would be handy and can be very expensive but there are other companies that make more price friendly winches lok at open road or the badlands winches that harbor freight sells there are youtuber making a living using these winches so there definitely not junk
